Just to start it off, I was thinking of the songs from Samurai X, and Requiem from FMA: Conqueror of Shamballa

pride and vestige are a little upbeat but still pretty warming. But I thought Fields of hope was really warm and fluffy. They're songs from gundam seed destiny

Well, I don't have too many heart warming and/ or beautiful music that i really like, but if there's one that's quite chord striking, it's Viral's theme, "Nikopol" from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagaan.

"Fire Treasure" from The Castle of Cagliostro. There have been a few touching anime songs but that one...I'll admit, I actually got a little misty eyed the first time I heard it. ^^'

I've also always found the Serial Experiments: Lain opening "Duvet" to be particularly moving for some reason.

The Legend of Ashitaka - Princess Mononoke - but usually anything by Joe Hisaishi is heart warming and beautiful ^_^

I agree. Most of the Princess Mononoke Soundtrack is beautiful. I also like the orchestrial music from Jigoku Shoujo, however its not so very heart-warming or chord striking.

Green Bird from Cowboy Bebop is pretty touching

If you're thinking about Samurai X songs, two do it for me from the Trust & Betrayal arc:

1. Shades of Revolution - The later half is what kills me time and time again. The song goes from creepy and sinister to heroic and bittersweet by the halftime mark and it ends with this hopeful, triumphant flourish that never ceases to make my heart clench.

2. In Memories KO-TO-WA-RI - Beautiful. Just beautiful. I found the music combined with the animation in the ending credits to be powerfully moving. My favorite moment is when Tomoe embraces Kenshin and the main theme just sweeps in with this raw and heartrending use of percussion and strings. Makes me want to cry with the loveliness of it.

Actually, I'm thinking of songs that sound as beautiful as those in Samurai X, but I agree, they are beautiful

One that always warms my heart is from Eureka Seven, and is Storywriter, by Supercar. It's got rock edge to it, but it still makes me all warm and fluffy inside thanks to association with the moments when they played it in the series.

Joe Hisaishi with Ayaka Hirahara - One Summer's Day (Inochi no Namae)... OMG! Ayumi's voice is crystal clear and beautiful...easily serenades me to sleep. Very slow, very deep...

Or something from a videogame. I really like Hack G.U. Vol. 2 - Capital City of Grief, Eld Sleika. The voice is very beautiful.

"Pearls" and "Diamonds" from Cowboy Bebop are great.

I think my vote would be almost any song from the Sousei no Aquarion soundtrack but "genesis of aquarion" and "First love, final love" are the two best. Listen to them immediately if you've never watched the show or heard the songs. MUST!!

I am a big fan of Joe Hisaishi, especially his work on "Summer" from the movie Kikujiro and his theme song for Howl's Moving Castle. Both are masterpieces.
