Anyone ever played the original Phantasy Star Universe?

I know there were some people who played it here but sorta gave up after awhile. 1 year + 1 month later, the game has changed a fair bit and mostly for the improvement.

Much more content, new classes, more weapons, new areas, new missions... many things to look forward to for those who left part way. However there were some issues with the game that could've been improved like the combat system, the shop search, travelling around the planet etc.

In AOI, many of these "issues" are addressed.

Check out their illuminus preview and some of the goodies to come!

If you never played PSU before, not to worry, the expansion itself is a standalone game so anyone can join up in the fun.

Phantasy Star Universe, is the successor to the original popular online hack n slash game called Phantasy Star Online. It follows a similar format of Diablo 2 hack n slash in which the game is easy to pick up and play for anyone.

The game itself will feature offline single player story mode and online mode in which players can create and customize their own character. Anyone who is a fan of japanese styled characters will take joy in creating their character and exploring the universe.

What I'd like to know is if anyone has the OST for the expansion, as the improved level themes own the crap out of much of the original music. Rozenom ftw. Musically it's inferior to PSO, but it's alot more fun to play...

I've been playing PSU for a while now and i can't wait until January 2008 for the release of Ambition of Illuminus here in the UK.

You'll really love Ambition of the Illuminus. They offer a lot more mini-stuff into the game (like new clothing, hairstyles, room schemes/props, and the like), and plenty more levels, too. It's a lot easier to handle and crit hits are easier to achieve in the game, honestly. Plus, you get counterattacks.
