I just missed the Katana in Silent Hill 3. This isn't even about trying to do everything 100%. I've played this game before (w/o a FAQ) and got it. It's my favorite weapon in the game, and I MISS IT.

Okay, lesson #1: Use multiple save files. Grrrr. It's not something I have ever consistantly done. BOO.

Oh well, I needed to play 1 and 2 anyway. I guess it is the universe telling me to start at the beginning.

What are some of the gaming disappointments you've kicked yourself over? Not for being OCD and missing a "perfect" game, but just because you did something really incomprehensibly STUPID.

Shin megami tensei: nocturne made me learn the hard way that you must save everytime you reach a save point even if you have only advanced 10min inthe game. Damn those "hidden" boss battles.

I saved everytime I reached a savepoint, but I completely agree. I think I'll start making a new save file for the beginning of each level, and before it switches to the hell side. When I get back to 3, that is.

I'm really quite convinced that that was my cue to play 1 and 2, I've already bought them and they are sitting here. I just wanted to play 3 again because I quite fancy it.

When I was playing Final Fantasy VIII - During the mission on the Dollet Communication Tower, after I met Selphie, I proceeded to the tower right away, and ignored the save point because I know I was strong enough to take on the Elvoret monster.

But then I forgot to draw Siren out of him. I wanted to go back and play that part again, but I realized I haven't saved my game at all.

I wanted to cry during that time because I really wanted to do everything in perfection!

You can draw her out of one of the guardians in Ultimecia's Castle. You probably know that now, though :o

I know that, but it was my third playthrough and I knew all the stuff. I wanted it to be like a perfect playthrough, but I had to forget about Siren. =(

And I ddn't want to look for the hidden monsters in Ultimecia's castle. Laziness, I guess. =/

The Guardians aren't hidden, by any means. You have to fight them to unlock your powers, remember?

Or, am I forgetting a special name for them and just referring to them with a general term. That is VERY possible.

Well, they're sort of hidden too, because to find some of the guardians there, you have to do some extra stuff(like jumping on the edge of the stairs at the right time or something like that).

And I really didn't need to unlock all my powers. I just needed Magic, Attack, and Item. =D

haha now that I realize it, by not fighting all the monsters in the castle, it wasn't a perfect playthrough after all. silly me. =/
