I was thinking of the end of the first disc and I kept asking myself the question: When Squall was hit through the chest with that ice shard, why didn't he die of loss of blood or something like that?

I mean the thing pretty much went right through where his lung might be. I can't remember them ever expaining it so why didn't he die?

Did they use they cure or life or something like that?

yes they did

yes they did

They did? When? Shut the fuck up.

It's never stated and one can never be sure about these things, so the best you can do is speculate. I always figured Edea took care of it, because she wanted the SeeD members alive for questioning.

Hundreds of other alternatives are perfectly possible: medics, medicine, Squall's healing factor, etc.

your a mong mate, the main person in the game isnt going to die on the first disk

Ok, so you call someone a mong and then state something that has absolutely nothing to do with the question. Riiiight.

No one said anything about him dying, jackass. Trance Moogle was just looking for an explanation as to why Squal appears to be unharmed the next time we see him. You, as the idiot in the thread, posted that yes, they did, even though you have no proof of such a claim.

I'm not saying you're wrong, mind. I'm just saying you're an idiot for assuming that what you said was correct, even though thousands of other things could've happened in between.

S'like I said: speculation is the best option here.

If someone can survive without a scratch and asteroid to the head, hurricane, lighting bolt, poison and be shrunk, its pretty safe to say they would be unfazed by a weenie shard to the chest.

Furthur i feel cure would not only cure their characters, but their cloths as well.

Now way would Squall die, then who would be tapping Aeris, Tifa, and Yuffie's asses in the KH games?

I think what you say would definately explain why Squall survives. Characters definately have gone through tougher things then ice shards but I guess that still leaves how Squall ends up safely away from Edea. She could have killed him right after the ice shard goes into him.

Edea healed Squall's wound after she hit him with the ice shards. Why? For the interrogation they do to him after he wakes up(the scene where Seifer is torturing Squall for information about SeeD).

SE expects us to automatically understand these kinds of things. I know, it can be confusing sometimes.

why didn't squall die cause they had plans for him. Plans like exploiting his popularity in kingdom hearts by creating some imaginary relationships with characters from different games and ignoring that he knew people like selphie

-spoiler alert-

Aeris died in FFVII, y'know. Squall could've died and still be able to tap her in KH. -insert MC Chris' 'fucked up flipper baby' line- In fact, had he died, the game might've been slightly more enjoyable, without his emo wankery.

Shouldn't this thread have come with a spoiler alert? Nice work.

That emo wanna-be Squall should've been offed at the end of the parade. In fact, all of the characters, save Quistis and maybe Zell, should have been picked off at the parade. It would've saved the player a lot of time b/c they're so linear that they don't serve a purpose of being there!

I was gung-ho when I found Laguna & co. chilling out in Esthar City. I thought I could recruit them and push Squall off the Ragnark and make the game somewhat enjoyable again.

No Story kills off their protagonist in the First Act. May I remind you they can cast magic, Run across a continent in less than a minute, and are taller than cites, I'm quite sure Square wasn't going for supreme accuracy. They just did it to catch/hold your attention.

I'll tell ya one story that takes out their protagonist... Remember that part at the end of disc 1 of FF7..? :-P

Aeris was slightly more entertaining than Cloud though. I mean, at least she had boobies.

You CLEARLY haven't played FFIV, or you wouldn't have asked that question. *spoiler*

If you remember, when the Enterprise was being pursued by the Red Wings underground, Cid jumped off the airship and detonated dynamite on himself to close the hole to the underground while the other characters escaped. He was later found in the infirmary in Dwarf Castle, and he soon made a full recovery with bedrest.

*end spoiler*
Essentially, characters are vulnerable to greatly varying degrees, depending on whether that character is a main character, or the writers want that character to die because the plot doesn't work without it (Aeris).

Yeah, I do remember now that that happened but maybe they shouldn't have made it seem so much like something that would kill any character in a cutscene (reguardless if they are the main character or not). Cid surviving just seemed like it had to be some sort of miracle with the whole explosion and then probably falling all the way down to the ground without dying. And with the 2D graphics it didn't really have as great as an impact as if they had it in 3D.

By the way, when does FF IV for the DS come out? Has it come out already?

you know what would be funny if yuna died jumping off the air ship or broke something. anyway they needed a dramatic way to end the disc thats why that happened to squall

No videogame characters can't die, they're just graphics on a screen.

I know exactly what you mean.

Also, I do think he should have died. Before the game started. That way I wouldn't have played it thinking it would be good.
That said, I enjoyed it the first three or four times.

I didn't really like Cloud that much, but I liked Squall because we act almost the same. Got a lot on my mind and rarely let others know my problems. I hate it when people keep pestering me to tell them what I'm thinking about because it makes it worse. Besides, I rarely talk. If you meet me in person, I'd probably only say a few words every hour. Unless I'm around certain friends. I'll talk a lot.

I agree with IDX Rider. I couldn't relate to Cloud much, but Squall? Well, yeah. I seldom tell people my problems, and yeah, pestering me on makes things worse. And, I don't like to start conversations with strangers or familiar people alike.
