Prak has a point. Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls is on the GBA, and both games are on 1 game pack thingy.

Easily the best RPG on the PSP at the moment is Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions. Most of the others are just ok.

If you've got a custom firmware PSP (and if you don't, what do you do with it?), get SNES9x / GBA emu and bam, hundreds of awesome RPGs to choose from from many generations.

If he hasn't played Valkyrie Profile and Tales of Eternia (dubbed Tales of Destiny 2 for it's original release) on the PSX, then I would recommend picking up either of those. Valkyrie Profile on the PSP is slightly inferior to the original but the latter will set you back a shit load of money on ebay, so for anyone that missed its original run it's definitely the better option.

I also hear that Puzzle Quest is good. Never played it so I can't comment.

There's always Disgaea.

Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth if you haven't played the original. This is available with roms and stuff -- the actual game goes for about $100 on ebay, and the emulators/roms are buggy as hell. Plus, PSP version has pretty new FMV scenes.

heard Jeanne d'Arc is good. Suppose to be ALMOST like Final Fantasy Tactics, but since Tactics is out for PSP...GET THAT.

anyhow:
IGN gave Jeanne d'Arc their "outstanding" grade score of 9/10, saying that "Extremely deep gameplay. Balanced tactical strategy and fast paced action with rich game mechanics. An intriguing twist on a well known tale. These three statements only scratch the surface" of the game

I do need to customise my psp however I need to find a game called luminies or something and I can't find it anywhere... only just got the net back at home so hopefully it will turn up on E-Bay!

PoPoLoCrOis was alot of fun - one of the first RPG's to come out for the PSP. Also, Brave Story is a throwback to some of the more traditional RPGs. Excellent both of them.

PoPoLoCrOis was the only game i've ever traded in.

It was mind-numbingly mediocre.

I haven't touched Valkrie Profile: Lenneth yet but I have the original on PS1 and it is easily one of my favourite games. So yes... get VP Lenneth!!!
