This is a Halo 3 rip that I've come across. The site stated that it was a rip, but it sounds like a recording to me. One way or the other, I thought it best to share it with you folks. Hope you enjoy it.

Hum, not to 'dis' your up or anything but i'd just like to say that i found (there fore my opinion) H3 had some of the worst music i've ever heard in a game, it plays on 1 orchestrated theme we hear a million times during the game, the rest sounds super retro, synthesized, and dosnt go with the action at all, add to that the fact alot of tracks are the same used in H1 and 2 (minus the cool hard rock moment)... How the OST will have 2 CD's is a real mystery, probaly just a marketing ploy to wow people still inflicted with 'Halo Hype' in need of merchandise...

Not a bad recording, the audio in some of the tracks sounds muffled almost. I wonder if this was originally uploaded by the same guy who recorded a few tracks and uploaded them on YouTube.

On the Halo 1 Soundtrack, the 2nd song, I guess it's called Truth and Reconsiliation or something, just listen it, it has exactly the piece you hear in the end movie of Halo 3

I guess you could say that maybe, I mean while I know I could have recorded and cut together the tracks cleaner myself: 1) I am thankful someone at least gave us something to listen to and 2) I already preordered the Halo 3 soundtrack so this will be a temporary deal for me.

It's only like the last 4 or 5 tracks on this rip that start to sound fuzzy and bad. I was EXTREMLEY happy though to find the track that was used in the "This is the way the world ends" trailer. That music is awesome. I really hope on the real Halo 3 CD (when it comes out) it has that track b/c that is an awesome track. =)

I didn't do the recording, I just uploaded it for everyone to have. I'm fully aware that the last few tracks are muffled, and unfortunately I can't do anything about that. Just as for other people, this will hold me over till the actual one comes out on Nov 20. :)

The way I did it when I recorded some tracks from Halo 3 is I went into the Saved Film, moved the camera into the quietest spot I could find, then slow fast forward and start recording audio only with my Capture Card. I recorded a couple cycles of the same section of a song then fast forward to the trigger point in the game where the song changes and start recording that. Then I went into Windows Movie Maker and edited it all together.

I used to listen to the same drumline from Halo1 while I was out for a little walk in the woods. It feels like the music is scoring what you're doing. I remember when me and my friends used to play softairgun combat on a forest-surrounded field here in Sweden, and I was listening to these drums from the original Halotheme on my mp3, it gave me an unfreakin' believable feeling. Like a combat-rush that flow through me:D haha

I'm ripping it in FLAC lossless and also MP3 (320 Mbps) whichever you guys prefer. Upload might take a while. It's a lot of data. Look for a new thread when it's all done.

The problem with Rapidshare will be at least 4 different links because of file size (FLAC is over 200 megs). On filefactory the limit is 300 MB and it goes really fast.
