Hi people, I am new in the forum. Sorry if the english is not good.

I am a big fan of Final Fantasy music, specially Nobuo Uematsu music

It is a shame that he is not on FF Team anymore to make me travel in all your lovely songs.

Recently I discover that Blue Dragon is one of his jobs

The work is good?

Also, I would like to know anymore works of this composer that are not Final Fantasy.

Thanks and bye.

I bought Blue Dragon. I too love Uematsu as a composer. That said, I don't think Blue Dragon is his best work. The battle and victory themes, while they fit the mood, are not very memorable. There are a few pieces in the game that I find quite amazing.

My absolute favorite track from the game is Eternity (feat. Ian Gillan). It's the boss battle theme, and it's probably one of the best boss themes I've heard in a very long time (maybe since Battle With the Four Fiends/Decisive Battle [FFIV]). It has the lead singer from Deep Purple (Smoke on the Water, Highway Star, anyone?) singing rather nonsensical lyrics, but never fails to get me pumped. In fact, when playing, I look forward to boss battles just to hear the song, and yes, it's on my iPod. I would say that none of the tracks from the game are bad, but at the same time, it isn't the best work he's done. I think you ought to check it out, if only for Eternity. Mecha-Robo Corps is another track I enjoyed, as far as the music that plays while you're dungeon crawling.

I love the Blue Dragon OST. Not really sure why are lot of people are knocking it. I think it's quite great. Of about 60 tracks I only found about 5-10 tracks that I skip on a regular basis when I listen to them and that's less tracks skipped than when I listen to his other soundtracks.

His other works may have better songs, but in sheer number of good ones versus bad ones, this one ranks as one of his tops.

Lost Odyssey though...that's sounding like it could be his best work yet. The battle theme of that game is the best I have ever heard in any game.

I thought the Blue Dragon soundtrack was OK but it had a lot of similarities with the Final Fantasy VII soundtrack...almost like he ripped himself off to make the score for Blue Dragon...

I haven't played the game nor listened to the OST. I want to download the soundtrack sometime, since Uematsu is composing it. Btw Blue Laguna.net should have the BD OST IIRC.

Hmm, I didn't notice this at all, but I quess that's just a matter of taste.

In any case, I liked this OST for the most part, but I wouldn't buy an XBOX360 just for this game.

I agree with the others that this isn't Uematsu's best. There are some standout tracks--In Search of the Ruins, Frozen Village, Mecha Robo Corps Charge--but for the most part, I came away disappointed. If you like heavy metal, you may dig this album more than I did. For instance, I hated "Eternity" (sorry), but that may be more of a taste thing than anything.

I guess as a piano player, I found this soundtrack absolutely incredible becuase of how well it used that insturment...

Zola's theme was fantastic, probably one of my favorite pieces of his since Rose of May. Same with Smiling Face, Land of Happiness, and Waterside. Other songs perfectly fit the mood of the game, like the themes inside the flying fortress, and the Devee village, and the underwater caverns, not to mention the normal fight theme.

Eternity and Bad Bat But make me want to smash things, though... ;)

I think people knock this soundtrack because the game itself is getting knocked pretty hard. But that being said, I think he made a soundtrack that fit the game just fine.

Wow, I diddn't know there were so many mixed opinions about the soundtrack... I may not have played as many FF games as most people, but I enjoyed the soundtrack overall.

I didnt care much for the BD tracks .. although I had only downloaded the 1st cd. Im not up-to-date on composers and stuff, but if the same guy did the Lost Odyssey OST, then that one by far is way better. To me, nothing stood out in the BD songs, no immediete catchy tunes, or melodies that warranted a deeper listen, so to speak. Lost Odyssey was much more powerful and had some great stuff, especially "Dark Saint" which is in the top 3 list in my mp3 player right now :)

Just my $0.02, so dont mind me at all ...

is there a thread leading to the link to a Zipped or RAR of the soundtrack?

Thread 48903

Near the top in this thread, CD1 definitely works, I'm assuming CD2 does as well.
