I'm playing this game again but I've read that many of you have played it more than once, like 4 or 5 times. I am curious because I am playing this again, this is my 2nd time. I didn't finish mastering all the spheres. I mean playing a game that mean times, how do you all don't get kind of bored with playing it that many times? Do you play and then wait awhile before picking up again? Do you start a new game or a New Game +? I read someone has played this game 4 times on the same file!!!!

It's not that unusual to see someone playing the same game over and over again, especially if they happen to like it and there are extras to be unlocked. I remember doing that with Resident Evil 4.

In FF X-2's case, given the true ending can't be unlocked until you play the game at least twice, I'm not at all surprised that people play and replay it.

You have to play it atleast twice to get the perfect ending, because a major in the plotline lets you decide who the Sphere gets.

I played the game half a dozen times, took we quite a while to get some of the items and Dress Spheres. It was well worth it though.

Actually, you can get 100% in one go if you choose the Youth League. But you'd have to play the game more than once to get everything.

Mierna's right. There's actually more than 100% of material, so if you choose the Youth League, you can get the perfect ending in one go. However, even if you get 100%, it doesn't mean you've seen everything.

Yeah, you have to choose Youth League to get 100% in one go, but I don't recommend it. 100% in one go is just about impossible unless you are absolutely meticulous and perfect. And getting that remaining percentage in a second playthrough is so terribly easy, it's just not worth banging your head trying to get 100% in one go, when you can get what you need on the second go in like 2-3 hours if you skip scenes and dialogue.

FFX-2 is a very rich game that will pay dividends if you take the time to explore it thoroughly, though. Try different options for things like the Mi'ihen Investigation, playing around with the CommSpheres, getting Episode Completes vs. Concludeds, etc. Oh, and if you're tired of a particular scene or dialogue, don't be afraid to skip it.

For Final Fantasy X, I played it twice. The first time, I quit after beating Yunalesca and leaving Zanarkand Dome to play a different ps2 game, but when I wanted to go back, the memory card got corrupted and so, I am playing it my second time now and is going to reach Bevelle very soon.

For Final Fantasy X-2, I played it once. I unlocked New Game+, but I never managed to get all the Crimson Spheres, Sphere Grids, or even get pass Cloister 30 of Via Infinito. In fact, I chose the Youth League hoping to get 100% completion, yet to score below 70%. However, due to the fact that the saved game was on the same memory card as FFX, its also gone. Luckily, I managed to transfer another person's saved game with New Game+ unlocked and so, once I beat FFX. I will play New Game+ in FFX-2!! :)

I hate it when memory cards get all messed up

PS2 memory cards RARELY mess up, unless you do something not recommended. In my case, I used the ARMAX memory card manager to transfer files from one card to another. Unluckily, one of game saves was corrupted and I had forgotten to remove it which resulted in a memory card file transfer freeze causing an unfortunate corruption. If I had removed the corrupted file at the time of discovery and not be lazy to wait for weeks until I completely forgotten about it, I wouldn't have to replay my games... http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif Speaking of which, over 300 hours of gameplay was lost. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_cry.gif

I've played FFX2 maybe 5-7 times. It's just fun. And yes, I've done the 100% one-shot...the commsphere chapter is tedious.

Most unfortunately.. Not that I lost my saved game file with New Game+ unlocked, the saved game file I transferred over to my memory card did not have the New Game+ function unlocked, but rather starting off with everything ready for the final battle with Shuyin. Since I don't have any extra save slots on ps2 memory card, I had to start a new game and save it over the transferred save. In other words, I am playing FFX-2 the second time without the New Game+ function. :( This is going to be difficult once again...
