I'm heading over to my fave Arcade Spot tomarrow (Nickle Nickle of West Covina for you SoCal people) and it's kinda sad that.... well, real reason to go to the arcades nowadays is just to play Marval vs Capcom 2, Capcom vs SNK 2, or any of the Bemani games. The only other people who plays the other games are.... little kids or old people. Sad that no one around the teen-years had ever touched the Crazy Taxi machine.... or Slient Scope.... or Street Fighter 2... ;_;

Sort of... yeah... around here anyway. I don't know of ANY decent arcades around here that is within 30 minutes... kinda sad though, since the arcade games are usually pretty good =D

Yeah, I guess arcades are dying cause most of us now have our own games in our own houses. Other places, people still go to arcades, but I'd rather stay at home :p

Most people rather play at their own house, or at a friend's. Arcades are history.

There is really no more point in arcades anymore. Most of the games have come out on their own systems, and people are playing them at home. Give it ten years and they will probably be gone.

Arcades are okay. Never really go to them much anymore. It was awesome when I was younger, but, yea, I guess you can say its starting to die down here. But why go to an arcade when I have a PS2 to play. =D

Arcade's are expensive, each time putting money in it is not for me and there are alot of arcade games I realy dont like.
game's at home are cheaper and better, and you have more games to choose from.

Actually, why would you like to play games at home? Playing by yourself DOES get repetitive though.....and boring as well.

Even if you have an arcade stick, a loud speaker system... even your own arcade cabinet.... it never compares to when your playing a person side-by-side with people going pass you... staying to watch or moving around. Online gaming (like Kaillera for arcade emulators) are just not the same, not only is there lag and stuff between them... you (or him) could be at a bigger advantage because of control type... and you can't here the game say "DAMMIT" after beating him so bad... As for DDR... freestyle at home... HAH, good luck trying to grab a crowd from your own living room.

The early years of my life (which I'm still in) will always be the years that I enjoyed gaming the most, for that is the time where arcade gaming was the best.

<font color=2670A8 face=tahoma>I dunno. I haven't been to any arcades since I was like 7. Although I did go to Magic Planet the other day, but it was only for the milkshakes.

<B>Hitokiri: Oooh. I've seen one of those places the other day at one of the malls. It looked so cool. x_x; *drool*

Arcade never really lived in Holland, or at least not that I'm aware of, but I don't think they'll die out. It's still a important part of the gaming industrie and it probaly will be for a long time

I don't know if it's dying out in general, but it definitely is for me. The last time I went to an arcade (with the exception of D&B's) to play video games was when Mortal Kombat 3 was hot :D .
