The 80GB model with Motorstorm has been dropped from $599 to $499. Also, the 40GB model with Spider-man 3 Blu-ray has been confermed in the US for Nov 2nd.

Price has dropped from 6k to 4k here in Norway. Still a pretty big blow to a man's wallet though.

I'm still not buying one for at least a year though.

I'll buy a PS3 once Final Fantasy XIII comes out and I can confirm that it's not coming out on the XBox360 as well, and a way to bypass the player's region locks for Blu-Ray, DVD, PS2 and PSOne games are found. The PS3 is still pricey as hell over here- 3.2k since it was introduced and the price never budged. And 3.2k is a lot of money to me.

About time, although right now I'm still in two minds as to whether to buy one or not.

Well, I just checked yesterday. There was indeed a price drop in parallel import PS3s over here. Now they're RM1999. That's still very close to a months' pay for me tho. And after finding out that Nubuo Uematsu and Hironobu Sakaguchi are involved in Lost Odyssey, I'm more tempted for a XBox 360 anyway.
