I really enjoy the show, but at times the point is lost on me. While it;s funny watching people failing, I don't see a point in the show when it appears that no one can ever win. I'd love to watch it just once and have someone win.

I haven't seen the US version, so was asssuming a particular style of narration based upon American shows of similar genre that I have seen: the home videos/ funny pets ones where the VOs are inane and bathed in whooping laugh tracks. The UK versions tend to be quieter and feature drier VOs.

On a side note, as a left-winger in the UK I seem to spend a lot of time verbally smacking people who believe the US to be the exclusive source of all that is wrong in the world. Interestingly their favourite TV shows tend to be The West Wing, The Daily Show, The Sopranos etc. Fuckwits.:rolleyes:

Takeshi's Castle is pretty fun to watch. The American "dubbing", MXC, is piss-yourself-over-and-over funny.

Ninja Warrior (Sasuke, and in this case, a serious dub) is also an excellent show. It's a bit like Takeshi's Castle, but much less silly, and much more competitive. Shingo Yamamoto is a badass.

Wow hahaha. Thanks for sharing those videos of the UK version among others. I hate to say it, but the UK version DOES remind me a bit of amreican's funniest videos for numorous reasons... but this is still FAR less painful.

I do love MXC as well, although once I watched it and got extremely angry that they ruined the show. They featured a bunch of american college-jock-looking-guys to do all the challenges and all of them were TRYING to act stupid which made it the most annoying thing perhaps I've ever seen. It had nothing to do with the japanese show... the only thing that made it like MXC was the type of challenges they were doing, and the same commentators. I'm not sure if anyone else caught this disaster, but fortunately I haven't seen that type of thing ever air since then. Who's ever idea it was to try that was surely fired. What a relief!

Best games I think were Skipping Stones, Wipeout and the High Rollers (in which some people ended up "doing the road runner" and ending up looking like a "super wazzock".

It's usually on Challenge in the evening (on Sky). I used to watch it after work (around 6-ish), but they've been moving the show around, and i've noticed that Ninja Warrior is on a little more that T.C these days.. but usually it's on at either 5:30, 6 or 7, and they show two episodes.

its so funny, i think the ones when the contestants actually hurt themselves are the best, like on that skipping stones, some of the stones are actually real, and when they fall they really hit them hard, some people get up looking all dazed, its commedy gameshows at its highest.

This may be the funniest show i've ever seen in TV! But it's sad that here in Denmark the only channel i have showing it is german, which means they dub it :(

I think that this show is one of the quirkiest in TV history, and with Craig Charles doing the voice overs just makes it that much more enjoyable.

I am actually a rather big fan of the show, unfortunately it isn't shown on Aussie TV or FOXTEL that often.
