Is there a way you can change the seasons of the Giza plains from the dry to the rains (or vice versa)? Does it just change on its on? Or is it only the rains for that one short period of time?

And also (to same thread room) What's the largest chain you've ever gotten?
I got 125 in the Ogir-Yensa Sandsea killing Urutan Yensa. :O

You need to speak with the Seeq in Rabanastre by the South Gate (his name'll change to Weather something. Sorry I can't exactly remember :o). Then it'll change when you hit the next game hour. So like, if you talk to him at 213:07:96, he'll say it's a long ways away. If you talk to him at 213:49:67, he'll say it will change soon.

I've had up into the 400's before.

I've only ever managed to get my chain to just over 100 =/

After you speak with Weather Eye at the south gate, it'll change like this:

Dry: 2 Hours
Rain: 1 Hour

Example, you talk to Weather Eye at approx 79:45 hours gameplay, and at the next hour (80:00+) it is dry, then the rain will come at 82:00 hours gameplay since the dry lasts 2 hours, and then the rain 1 hour after that.

I've gotten well over 1,000 killing Absteelys in the Henne Mines. (Best game exploit ever.) The chain counter stops at 999.

When you go farming for rarer item drops, your chain tend to go well over 100.

But I never chained anywhere over 300. I never needed to, and have never been willing to either since it is useless.

Like a lot of other people I probably got my highest chain in the Sandsea. 250+ Urutan Yensas bit the dust on my last playthrough. Think the final figure was something like 275 when I killed the Urutan Eater and broke the chain.

I got like 70 from the Urutan Yensas when you first go to that place. But then I got killed/raped from that sphere thing that appears. That was really gay. Then I got about 50 from the same place, just rushed it.

I've gotten about a chain of 284 in Feywood, you go to that part that is nothing but Mirror Knights, and when they're gone, you zone to the save crystal area, then to the Rafflesia battle area, then zone back to there and they're there again.

Its a good place to gain money as well, considering when the chain gets high, you get like:
3-4 Windslicer Pinions (on average) which sell for 1148 gil each (1148 x 99 = 113652 gil per stack of 99 you collect. Good :D)

Wind Crystals (common as windslicer pinions) for 160 gil each (15840 gil for 99 stack)

Mirror Scales (not as common) for 1952 gil each

And sets of Mirror Mail (sometimes multiple, my highest being four sets at once) for quite a bit, I dont have that number on me, heh.

Overall, you'll be in the millions with gil if you do this for a day. Helps pay for those expensive ultimate weapons. :D

I think my highest was 80-something of Undead at Golmore Jungle. Chain got broken because I had a hunt to do.

I am now on my second playthrough and I'm chaining undead at Lhusu Mines. I'm wondering... how long does it take for the undead to span at Shunia Twinspan? I get to 42 and then it's full stop. Those flying thingies at Transitway 1 breaks the chain, and I can't go too much longer inside the mines, as there's a boss fight there. Do I really have to go two areas away for the 42 undead to respawn?

Editga: I did find a way to make the spawn a little longer, so I got a chain of 113 before I tired and went back to save. (I am afraid of too long chains, as I worry about the console breaking or that my characters suddenly die in a stupid way so that I lose all my chain before I get to save).

Were you hunting that fucking bunny? That shit was so annoying. It kept running, hiding, and healing. But I got a 48 chain before I killed it.

Yup, the bunny. Great thing about that particular area, though, is that when you've killed all the "regular" fiends there, undeads will spawn endlessly. You don't have to walk in and out of the area, just run round and round. That's when I got 80-something, without ever leaving the area.

i chained like 240 or something in lhuso mines, killing the skelletons and skull defenders, by the way has anybody else met the urutan exile in the ogir yensa sandsea? i think you have to reach a certain amount of chain level, i was on like 120 or above and i saw it, i killed it and it droped a good weapon for that point in the game.
