In other Anime, aren't that always-happy-always-cheerful people always have a terrible past? They try to hide it or... try to get over it, so they act happy-go-lucky all the time. Rikku is kind of like that. In X, she refuses to visit the Farplane. In X-2, she was traumatized in the den of woe (or whatever that cave in Mushroom Rock Road was called). And, she seems to be the only character in X who doesn't have a destiny. Wakka and Lulu are married. Kimahri is Elder. Yuna and Tidus are together now. What about Rikku?

I am personally a fan of Rikku, so, yeah... I think Square should be responsible and finish her story up!

Personally, I still want X-3 to come (but it seems highly unlikely) and Rikku to be the protagonist. ^^

That sounds like good ol' Square-Enix to me. Although if it were now and today, they'd kept Rikku's story along with a side/backstory for all of the other characters, and the NPCs. Rikku is the person I like the least in all of X/X-2, but I would have liked a movie/game with her simply because it will give us more information about Spira.

The likelihood of Square Enix ever producing another game in the FFX universe is slim to none after they ended up canceling the proposed "dual sequel" idea for FFX-2 in favor of a single one. However, depending on the popularity of the FFVII compilation, it may prompt SE to expand on some of the other games.

Personally, I'd rather see them work hard on bringing us quality new titles, such as XIII. Sidestories and sequels are cool, but they force the company to work within a confined universe, as opposed to letting them explore different ideas and swap/scrap/instate new ideas on the fly to deliver us the best gaming experience possible.

Also, whoever posted that "Paine is too goth" has a profound misunderstanding of subcultures. She's just a stoic and slightly morbid character, thus people will assume she must be goth. If she was depressed, I'm sure you'd hop on the bandwagon to call her emo (despite the term having to do with music and not depression).

Vincent having a game doesn't directly give Rikku any more chance to have a game, as Square Enix is actually working on Compilation of FFVII. It does, however, prove that the company is not at all opposed to making sidestories for its most popular games.

My suggestion is to enjoy the Compilation, and play through FFX-2 another time, paying attention to Rikku's contributions to the story. If there ever is an FFX-3 project, it won't be for a long time, so be prepared to wait for something that will probably never happen.

Her first outfit, in Final Fantasy X, was whimsical and reminiscent of Yuffie's (oh, how wholesome she was during those days). I am really not sure if anyone will answer seeing the last post was over a year ago, but you know how Cid is the name of rikku's father. Well seeing as there is a Cid who likes airships in ff7, do you think that rikku's father and Cid from ff7 are the same person. Also you know how Rikku has the same personality. They are both thieves. They have the happy go luck attitude. And they both are obsessed with circular objects, Materia or Spheres. I know it is gross seeing as Cid is in late 30s or early 40s and yuffie is 15 or 16, but have you ever thought about it. That some how yuffie and cid had a kid.
