haha, great review, i dont even know what the word cosplay means but i agree, it's pretty strange and lonely to dress up as your favourite computer game character and meet at conventions, although this is true for star trek fans and star wars and the rest of them too.

spoony one is good at telling it how it is and illustrating incredulous exasperation hilariously. his 'the thing' game review was useful for me because i loved the film and its brutal and plausible paranoia based horror, interesting alien and mysterious ending and found his review to help me decide what to do with the game the best, i.e. avoid it like the fucking plague.

Besides, there can be a million reasons for something to not happen, but if there is just one reason for it to happen, it may well just happen. someone who has the game and the time and the boredom will inevitably play it. That's really what got me to play it. And I enjoyed it very much...

Still, props on the guy's commentary. Any jackass can just rip FFVII apart, but it takes real boldness to do so while speaking the truth. lol. And the Naruto Jab is well worth watching the whole thing, IMO.

fair enough, the game is clearly unfinished, there are inconsistencies in the plot (why dont the weapons ever attack sephiroth, for example?) there are weird bits (although having played it for the first time in my late teens i merely found the corneo and brothel bits funny) and there are large amounts of tedium involved in levelling up, breeding chocobos, racing them, growing materia, battle square etc. but i found the story to be a cool mixture of cyberpunk and fantasy and a nice indictment on corporation and an affirmation of the sanctity of life as well as the power of nature, and i liked (most of) the characters (and find some of their compilation expansions to be terribly overdone and pandering to the tastes of fickle kids). bare in mind the fact that it's the first and only FF ive played to date.

Ok, I can say, why to do not play FFVII have several reasons:
1. Some people really can`t stand that kind of graphics, I don`t understand them, but if they are so then I must deal with it.
2. There are people who don`t like this kind of RPG, FFVII is darker, has more technology, and like I said it is darker and has much "stronger" plot, so those who just like kawaii girls running around with fary-like creatures SURE WOULDN`T [AND SHOULDN`T TOO] PLAY FFVII.
3. It`s overrated, because of it`s popularity you just don`t get that addictive to the idea of playing it. If a game`s "commercial" side chokes you off, then you would not play the game.
