I just wasted 45 minutes on it, after which I had to turn my PS off, and I lost hours of play because I didn't save before going into the forest.

Why'd they have to make it so confusing? Someone console me.

it's the annoying one with the Cetra. Lots of light blue backgrounds :(

I pretty much hate all of the Laguna scenes. The second one is the worst, just as you're finally given freedom to work up and organise your team, you're given this lame attempt at cutesy comic relief.

omg Laguna lost the map lol! He is such an endearing character

Hey Kiros and Ward, face palm time!!!!!!!!!!

How about no. shouldn be stupid and hopefully it teaches you to save your game. Besides that flashback can be done in about about 20 minutes plus the 4 battles at the end.

Well for an expert, they have to do the whole switch/level toggling and the bomb detonations. You can still go forward and advance without having to do all those.

Yeah but the bomb things play a part in the game later on when you visit lunatic pandora once again.

I had no reason to believe that going into the forest would trigger a flashback, but I'll be more careful in saving my game next time :)

if u want 2 do it right u have 2 do the following;

1. after u fight the esther soldiers head forwards and go down the ladder
2. go down the hallway and walk over the second trap door u should hear a click press x wen your on the door and you'll have 2 options choose the one where you unlock the trap door and go right.
3. go up and u should b in a room with a boulder in it go forward into the door and you should see a mini torpedo thing press x and press the option that tells u to move the farthest boulder then press x again on the torpedo thing and select the nearest boulder.
4. then head the usual way untill u c another boulder and press x on it then head 2 the save point SAVE go forward and you'll only have 2 fight 1 esther soldier and on disc 3 quistis can learn a blue magic move.

If you feel that the random battles in there are too distracting, easy. Just work up Diablo's enc-none and use that during the sequence.

Lukey
11-01-2007, 06:49 AM
Yeah but to get Encounter-None you need to get like 130 AP, not exactly something you'd always get at that point

Those flashbacks are even more tedious when you go for a 2nd or 3rd playthrough. That one was annoying but I think i was more annoyed at the one in that town with all the monsters after that Cetra one. So I guess the third flashback.

ya flashback were annoying I agree but hated having switch junctions over and over because I would forget if I switched or not.
in the second flashback I took a long time on that one.

and the the winhill one I thought was pretty pointless since alls you do is just go to the end of town and back.

That's the obvious solution yes :) I don't see what the problem is for other folks though? Each 'flashback' character corresponds to someone else in the game (Laguna/Squall for example) so any levelling you do in the 'dreamworld' will correspond back to the 'normal' world.

I think if people actually have a little patience and give the alternate scenes a chance then they might actually learn something about the other characters instead of FAQ'ing it up on ign.com for a plot analysis.

if you dont do the detinator & the trap thing u wont be able to get a power generator which will enable quistis to use ray bomb a very effective move.

Technically, you can still get the power generator even if you don't do the detonator/trap things in the flashback. It's possible to get one by mugging a blitz over level 30, but the odds of getting it each time are 1/255, or 0.39%(according to the guidebook).

Well, Quistis did prove herself useful to my party during the Deling City sewers part of the game on disc 1. Degenerator helped a lot then.

Zell is actually potentially the most powerful character in the game, in terms of HP damage dealt. Punch Rush/Booya/Repeat. 4000 HP per attack with Str ~230, 8+ sec can do like..44 attacks, easy. So like..44 times 4000 (176,000) vs "Lion Heart", which is 9999 times 17 (169,983).
