I've been listening to that song a lot recently and it's a gorgeous piece, but when exactly does it appear in the game? I don't recall hearing it in the game, and it's been gnarring at me for the last couple of days.

It plays at Trabia Garden. I'm 99.99% certain of it.

"Ami", I believe, is played right before the band-planning session, and during one of the scenes at Lunatic Pandora lab, I forget if it's as Squall or Laguna. One time is "Ami", the other is "Trust Me".

I could have sworn you hear it during the first part of disc 02 when you take over as Laguna, when he's in Winhil and interacting with Ellone.

i know fragments of memory is playing at winhill when youre talking with ellone (i hear it and can picture her running around the pub). but i think youre right sonnie, ami plays too when youre walking around the town.

i think trust me is at lunatic pandora lab. its really similar to ami and where i belong and balamb garden but its got minor key melodic undertones, creepier.

I'm fairly certain Ami played during the Winhil part...my power went out and I had to replay the entire section over again. I know I heard Ami.

Shoot, glad I hung on to that .01%, dagnabbit, too many "Balamb Garden" / "Eyes on Me" variations in this game... Yeah, now that I listen to "Where I Belong," that's definitely the one that plays in Trabia Garden. Yes, "Fragments of Memory" is definitely the Winhill piece at the Pub. I'm not ruling out though that "Ami" also played somewhere within there.

Heck, I think I may even have a savefile around that point. I'll check it...

This is why I love having the PC version --- much easier to store a large library of savefiles and not having to go to the TV and the Playstation and stuff to start the game...


Edit: I can't find any instance of any tune other than "Fragments of Memories" during the Laguna sequence at Winhill, other than "The Man with the Machine Gun" and "The Winner" when you do battle, of course.

Ami is NEVER played in Winhill. All that's played there is what Agent said, and Fisherman's Horizon when you're in Winhill as Squall.

Okay, here is a COMPLETE list of when Ami is played. I remember making a list of when every piece was played during the game last time I played, yeah, I know, I need a life. But since this game had my favorite soundtrack I figured I'd one day do it. So I guess you can ask me when anything is played... heh. Anyway, Ami:

-When the two parties reunite again in FH after you beat the tank.
-The very first time you see Edea's house during the flashbacks when everyone meets at the basketball courts (so I guess it does play at one point in Trabia).
-Band planning, like I said. Of course, only during the scene before you're given the option to test the instruments, when they explain everything. Of course everything needs to be quiet while the instruments are tested.
-When you visit Lunatic Pandora lab AS SQUALL. As Laguna, it's "Trust Me". Chances are that'll be missed because if I recall correctly there isn't really much point to take Squall there except to get the draw point.


That's it. I'm sure of it.

Breezy? Nah, it's played in a bunch of places though. Perahps your thinking, at one point in Garden (only at one point, it won't be there later) when you go to the Quad, you see a guy playing guitar. Then, the main Balamb Garden theme stops and Breezy plays.

I think it really means friend... It was playing in Trabia`s basketball court when everyone was talking about their past, about their friendship... They realized that hey are really good friends and the whole scene was about friendship...

Well, it seems to make sense in all situations but one:


-Two parties reunited in FH (WELL DUHHHHH)
-Basketball court cut to Edea's house (explained above, how they all knew each other)
-Band planning (well again they're working together... and the whole thing is for Squall and Rinoa so...)

But I don't understand why it plays when you take Squall to Lunatic Pandora lab. It seems like at that point they just chose random tracks to stick in, considering in Tears Point you hear "Rivals" (which is originally played when Seifer is interrogating Squall in jail), and in the Sorceress Memorial "The Salt Flats" is played, except for when you rescue Rinoa you hear something else.

They did the same thing at Winhill as Squall by playing "Fisherman's Horizon" there. Probably because all that's there for Squall to do is that little Vase quest and the Queen of Cards passing through there, nothing plot-related enough to make there be an appropriate track there. Except for when you're there as Laguna, when you hear "Fragments of Memories", but it wouldn't really make sense to play that there as Squall trecks through there.

Thank you, actually notice in my post that I DID state that another piece plays while rescuing Rinoa. If you go there during your very first opportunity to go (which is when you leave Esthar city to the map when you're supposed to go to the launch station) if you go to Sorceress Memorial then, The Salt Flats plays. From the point where you rescue Rinoa and onwards, "The Oath" plays there.
