E.T. on the Atari back in the early 80s.

And it's not because it was on the Atari 2600. There were great games on it back then like Pitfall, PacMan, BattleZone, Gauntlet, Zaxxon (a personal Favorite) and B.C.'s Quest for Tires (and it's sequel Grog's Revenge, my all time favorite pre-Nes games).

Errr... why is that? It's just your standard point 'n click adventure game. Don't like using your head? Well, you don't really need to be smart to beat these types of games... You just need loads of imagination. I've never gotten through a point 'n click adventure game without consulting a walkthrough at least once. But I like the Broken Sword series. Very good humor.

NES - Gyromite: it's pointless with out ROB. The puzzles are cool, but unless you like trying to use 2 controllers at the same time or have a friend that doesn't mind being bored as hell, it sucks ass!

Wow, this is an ingenious thread idea.

It would have to be either the horrible GTA rip-off

SaGa Frontier was weird. I got random urges to play through it because it was really unique -- the battle system, the worlds/system of travel between them, the magic system, the characters (and their story lines). But while they were unique and interesting, they weren't particularly... good.

I still pick it up and play it for a decent bit of time now and then until I get bored.

So by your standards, Mario, Final Fantasy, Zelda, Metroid, Medal of Honor, Resident Evil and Metal Gear Solid are all among the crappiest games ever made, since they are mainstream...

Just keep on playing with your beta copy of Thrill Kill on your PSone. That is sure to please you when it comes to staying underground.

Well you just about named majority of the games that are mainstream, exclude Mario and Zelda though. I never played Thrill Kill and don't plan to, considering my library consists of games mid-low popularity, such as Twisted Metal for example.

I just kinda think the way gaming is now, is people go all-crazy to play games that have the same recycled atmosphere from games before it that were like that. Games like Halo, to me the whole running around shooting aliens or whatever has been done many times so really I don't get why people go so insane besides the multiplayer of course when really it's a different title, developer, console basing off the same FPS-Like gameplay.

When I have to think about it...I can't really remember one except...Sonic Shuffle. That game was horrible. I thought Sega had found an answer to Mario Party but instead it made Mario Party look that much better.

From Wiki:

Criticisms

Sonic Shuffle was not as successful as its competitors, Mario Party and Crash Bash. Some positives about the game were its graphics and concept. However, some viewed Sonic Shuffle in a negative light which resulted in some bad reviews and opinions, including the following:

*Many of the available mini-games, were confusing and/or frustrating.
*The loading times between the mini-games and the boards were very long.
*The music was annoying, even "horrendous", for some.
*The game's manual was not as helpful as it could have been.
*The game's tutorial system was not as explanatory/detailed as it could have been.
*The computer-controlled players would very often cheat at the game, stealing the best cards from other players to get to the Precioustones first, and making the game very difficult when computer-controlled players were used.

Radiata Stories.

Sure it might have been a decent game to most, but not to me. There was a lot of content in it and there were two paths for you to take during the story that would decide what ending you would get to. You could recruit over one hundred characters to join your four-man-squad and save the world from the same final boss in both endings. Even though you took a different path, you still have the same final boss.
There were also a few points of comedy in the game where it was hilariously done through okay cutscenes. There were references to previous Square Enix games in some parts, like getting a costume that would dress you exactly like Fayt from Star Ocean: Till the end of time. There was also the fact that you could get Lenneth from Valkyrie Profile to join your party. Along with that there were other characters from previous games who played a role in the secret dungeons.

My problem was that it sucked doing the whole thing.

Halo, Counter-Strike, and WoW, I don't really see why these games are nearly as popular as they are, but I think they suck and are lame. I need a game that'll put me on the edge of my seat like Rockman. Oh yeah, ALL the rockband and guitar hero shit is fuckin lame as hell. Why not pick up an actual guitar and try to play that. so much better than have a five or six button FAKE guitar and using it in a videogame. The concept of a fake musical instrument is really stupid to me, and it proves that whoever is playing is not using their brain capacity to good decisions. I don't even consider music games like that worth my time.
