A huge and powerful remix of the Final Fantasy 7 soundtrack has just gone live and is all free to download. Honestly its one of the sickest remix compilations I've ever heard.

It's quite good, and there's a torrent on OCR. You don't have to download them one by one. The torrent has both mp3 songs and lossless wav so you can download whatever you wish. Judgment Day remix is my favorite, but they're all good. Two years in the making.

it's an alright album a little overated , most tracks have those crappy dance beats that oc always puts in their shit. ruins the greatness of the soundtrack itself.

I downloaded the whole soundtrack, took like 40 minutes. And I didn't like any of the tracks at all. It sounded too techno-y for my tastes.

It's overrated indeed. It's certainly a fan-remix. Some compositions sound just awkward, trying too hard to enhance the original and failing at it, while others are hardly recognizable.

Don't get me wrong, it's very good overall. But not TEH SHIT.

Only tracks I really enjoyed were Daydreaming and Sleep, My Sephy.

It's easily one of the best unofficial soundtracks I've ever heard.

You can cut 2GB off the torrent download size if you ditch the wav files and only get the mp3's, by the way

Mako & Shira(Spelling) Make me feel evil LOL. Other then that I love the whole CD and all the songs Rock! Ever all the battle themes are nice. Also, someone really did a better remix to One Wingd Angel/.

the songs were ok... but they were a little too techno for me

the guitar songs IE: Hurry up and the battles are begining. are great though.
and some of the songs that are just piano and synth are good. but the techno crap is bad

I've been anxiously waiting for this project to be released, and knowing OCremix, it was exactly as I expected. Some songs aren't really for me, but it's definately high quality stuff and worth the large download. :)

I'm one of the few people around here who haven't played any FF games, with the exeption of a few hours of ff10 before I was too bored.... But Cosmo Canyon and One-winged Angel are two of my fav tracks from all the final fantasy music. The one-winged angel remix on this album was entirely worth the two or three days it took to download the complete flac collection :coolegg: Other than that, I find the songs a bit too much techno-ish.

OCremix has some great music, it's just a pity that the site refuses to sort the remixes by genres, so that I have to dig through so much techno/jazz crap to find the good orchestral stuff :notgood:

Not all electronic music is techno, learn the difference. Also, some people actually like jazz and electronic music (I like both), so calling it crap goes a bit far...

Didn't like everything on my first listen, but after listening to it a lot, I'm starting to really like it.

dance beat techno IS crap. period. it lacks any type of emotion,it's just plain generic crap.

Ha ha. To each her own. This remix rocks. And it's free people, no use in complaining.

I've never played a single Final Fantasy game either but I totally love the soundtracks from these games. Next, I'm really looking forward to the FF XIII soundtrack.

I dled the torrent when they first put it up and still haven't listened to it.
I've been with OCR since wow...2002? I think? Maybe?
I'm used to the dance/electronica/techno stuff and a lot of it I like...
I think DANCE techno is a little dull, but I like most of the rest of the kinds of electronic music.

I'll get back here once I give the entire album a listen :)
FF7 is not my favorite FF, and nowhere near my favorite FF soundtrack, but I do still like it so combined with some of the great OCR remixers I'm sure there'll be something I like.

Overall, I thought this was extremely good for a fanproject and worth a look for most fans. A few of the songs bother me a little because they don't sound anything like the original (grr... Hurry! what's with the voiceover?) but others have that wow factor.

I really like the "Cosmo Canyon" portion of the track "Lunatic Moon"... I wish the whole song had been more like that.

omg, I can't stop listening to Black Wing Metamorphosis. It gets better each time I listen. It's seriosly one of the best orchestrations I've ever heard. Moments like Black Wing Metamorphosis are the reason I spend 20hrs/day downloading everything that simply has an intersting title - there may be something good inside. BWM kicks ass.

My lastfm recent tracks chart looks really boring now... lol

And, did I mention I like Black Wing Metamorphosis?

I really like some of these tracks. Especially Fading Entity, Valse Aeris, Sons of Chaos, and more. My only gripe with the One Winged Angel mix is that the chorus sounds slurred in a way. Still sounds great though. It was an unexpected interpretation.

Fun fact: part of the chorus is digital, but Pixietricks (female singer who did some other ocremixes as well) replaced the soprano part of the chorus with live vocals. That's why it might sound a but slurred as you put it.

Also: Those three you named are my favorites. :P

I've only listened to the first disc, there were a couple I didn't like, most of them were okay but I REALLY liked the first track and the Cosmo canyon one. ♥

I don't know how I almost skipped this up! Wonderful soundtrack! :love: I love the first song and the Jazz remixes too and I�ve only heard the first CD. Truly worth getting if you haven�t heard this before.

OK so it�s my turn to contribute something. If anyone is interested I will have the entire 4-disc set of Fantasy 7: Voice of the Lifestream in FLAC lossless and I�m willing to upload to MediaFire.

Please be patient as I still have to encode all of the tracks from WAV format to FLAC and I�ll also have to find the time to do all of that uploading. Well anyway just remember that I will have the FLAC lossless version of all 4 discs. :cool:

Nope. Some have a jazz remix while others a an orchestral remix and still others have a piano remix. Visit the site (in first post) and you can listen to the music and hear for yourself. The first song isn't even techno.

I just listened through a bunch of the songs and I can honestly say this collaborative effort is awesome. Nice to hear other people's interpretations of Final Fantasy VII music. Seriously, check this out!

Yeah, always just techo and more... Black Wind Metamorposis was pretty good and Jenova Returns tuu, but almost all other tracks... dissappointment.
