Anyways, as stated in the other thread, my first RPG is FFVI (FFIII US), which I played on my cousin's SNES clone. The whole thing blew me away and is actually what got me started on the emulation scene (greedy pig won't let me borrow the game and SNES, and my aunt refused me an SNES because I already have a Sega MegaDrive and she thought that was good enough -.- )

Playing it again on my GameBoy the other day was just as awesome as it was back then...

Super Mario RPG... Then I moved on to Breath of Fire... Then Final Fantasy VI... And from then on it was all a blur. :D

Dungeon and Dragon (Not the Advance rule set), and you had to play this using dice, a sheet of paper to mark your stats, and a Game Master.

The fun part of the game was that it was a blast in multiplayer mode.

I am pretty sure my first RPG was chrono cross, my aunt gave me chrono cross and final fantasy IX for a christmas present when I was little. I ended up playing chrono cross first but ended up like final fantasy IX better.

I can't remember exactly I think it was Firedragon or dragonfire or something.

I vaguely remember playing the first Final Fantasy on the NES but the first RPG I played that I remember fully was Final Fantasy VII. After that, I found other ones that I liked more, but that one I will always remember. lol, it was the only Final Fantasy game for the playstation that I did not have to buy multiple copies of because one of the discs just decided to stop working.

It is not an RPG, yet similarities exist so I can understand the confusion. Not everyone knows what defines a proper RPG. JRPGS in particular often use the term with exceptional latitude so yes, I can understand how some gamers erroneously label a game as role-playing.

I think the Snes game was called "Mystic Quest Adventures". The GB-game was released as "Final Fantasy Adventures" in the US and in Europe it was called just "Mystic Quest".
