Lots of topics about the best airship and your favorite one but which ones are the most powerful?

The Invinicble probably. It had teh lazor. Levels a few cities as well - really it's the only FF Airship I can think of that is used offensively.

I would have to agree with Vaati. It wasn't only an airship, but a damaging weapon of destruction as well.

invincible was originally a battleship prototype designed in terra before its downfall... i think (read it in Oielvert in FFIX)

Not only that, Invincible could also render Eidolons useless and/or enslave them. That's pretty darn spiffy-keen.

Kinda makes you wish you could go around blowing stuff up when you finally get control of it... :P

The Ragnarok wasn't awful in terms of power either. It had some wicked artillery which let you bust your way into the Lunatic Pandora.

I was scrolling down this thread, and was just HOPING AND WAITING that someone would make that point.

FFX's Chandelier (that's what I call it anyway, if anyone knows the real name of it, please feel free to enlighten me) had missiles and laser guns, and did a good job of knocking Sin's wings off, but didn't show any real display of power like the Ragnarok or Invincible; it did, however, manage to outrun, or at least survive, a nuclear holocaust, so at least it has some decent engines and armor.

The Celsius (FFX-2) looks too much like a giant, classic 1950s automobile. And, they really disappointed me when they scrapped the idea of letting it transform into a giant robot. At least the mag wheels looked cool.

You could also consider Ark (FFIX) an airship, even if it's still a summon. Now, THAT was a transforming giant robot, and it could incinerate the surface of the planet Dragon Ball Z style! What's not to like about that?!

Squaresoft really needs to make a racing game about its Airships, instead of pussy-fuckign around with Chocobo Racing. If Chocobos were really all that fast, why would they still need to staple air skates on the bottoms of their feet?!

It's never given one in the game. "Chandelier" is as good a name as any for it, I suppose.

The Invincible was pretty awesome in strength but then why was it destroyed so easily? or wasn't it...i think i remember it being NOT Invincible.

But yea that's my choice anyway.

Yeah, what can I say? It looks like a chandelier to me! Then again, no chandelier I've seen has a large, hover-craft style rotating fan/disc on its rear, either.

It wasn't; you could still return to it from Memoria (the final dungeon).

Oh okay. Yea I only beat that game once so I don't remember much about it. Still I did enjoy it. Thanks for clearing that up.

I believe I read in the FFX-2 ULtimania translation taht the FFX Airship is called the Fahrenheit.

Not sure.

But yeah, considering the number the Invincible did on Alexandria Castle, i think it's the strongest. Then again, isn't the Rganorak alsoa spaceship? That would seem to put it somewhat way technologically ahead of any of the others.

Fahrenheit? Celsius? Haha. What's next, The Kelvin? LoLz.

I verify that, though, I searched around on it and did find references to it as the "Fahrenheit."

But isn't the Invincible also a spaceship as well? Isn't it used to travel from Terra (or what once was Terra) to Gaia?

true... but isnt Terra(or former Terra) in a different dimension???...

Yeah, I suppose it probably is. Your party gets there originally through a specially activated portal, though I suppose there's at least some chance that could actually be some sort of wormhole, rather than an interdimensional rift. I don't think the game really says for sure.

FFX's Airship did kinda nuke home it looked like.

But there is speculation that the planet Terra is INSIDE Gaia. We see the planets fusing in Deilvert and I believe Garland says the two fused.

Terra attempted to fuse with Gaia. but Terra was too old and weak while Gaia was still fairly young and had energy/ power or something....idk

Why the most powerful ? I prefer the beautiful ones, like the FFIII last one, or the FFVI airship of Gabianni . They look so ethereal .

It's actually not speculation, it's part of the backstory of FFIX that Square oficially released in their Ultimania. Terra existed within Gaia, and Shimmering Island was the portal between the two worlds. The shimmering of the island comes from Terra.
