Alright, any of you know-it-alls out there want to tell me how you can finish that string of four final boss battles without using Squall's Lionheart Limit Break? Honestly, I don't think it can be done. Well, maybe it can, but you'd be hard-pressed to survive while chipping away at their HP.

As for Eden, I believe it's Griever that can instantly kill any of your GFs before even being summoned, and even Eden's summon attack of 40000HP damage is paltry compared to each of these bosses' HP totals.

And, of course, that first fight with Ultimecia at her throne before she summons Griever is enough of a cakewalk, but you still have three other battles afterwards to talk about.

Any challengers?

Well, one way is to junction zell to max attack power and use his limit break instead.

But if thats too easy for you, you can also use magic. For example, when me and my brother didn't know how FF8 worked we just cast cerberus and had all party members cast triple meteor. It was pretty hard though.

Irvine max attack, and rapid fire "fast ammo" it works really well.... which is ridiculous for a shotgun.

cast aura on all party members and then use hero's or holy waters.. This will cause your party or members to become invincible to any attack. Note the time limit for heros and holy waters is only about 3-5 minutes. So better be quick and fast :D.

Beating the game is a piece of cake without using limit breaks if you refine items so you get maxed out stats. Griever's Shockwave Pulsar attack only takes off about 200-300 hit points with maxed out stats. Also, when your stats are maxed out your ATB bar fills up like you are on Auto-Haste all the time.

I haven't looked at the English version of the Final Fantasy VIII Strategy Guide by Brady Games but the Japanese version of the Final Fantasy VIII Ultimania Strategy Guide by Digicube shows everything in depth on how to refine any kind of item. There is seriously like two ways to get nearly every item on the game.

I never use Guardian Forces for anything except for junctioning besides the beginning of the game when I only used them for what they were originally intended for --- to guard your characters' H.P. from damage.

funnyboy4004 has a great strategy as well. I used that method to take down the Omega Weapon in Ultimecia's castle by making my characters invincible.

If you want to use other characters' limit breaks then use Irvine's or Zell's simple attacks because you can do so many of them within the time limit and do unheard amounts of damage comparable to Squall's End of Heart attack.

Also, my strategy to get the party of three characters you have all your Guardian Forces junctioned through in the final battle is to cast Death on all the other party members that appear in your party who don't have any junctions and wait until the little angel/cherub takes their dead body away. I don't even start attacking Ultimecia until I get my party of three set up. Even if she uses attacks like Maelstrom on my characters, it only comes to their advantage in the end because their limit breaks trigger when their H.P. gets low anyway and you can cure the status change from Maelstrom with Esuna.

Ultimecia's last form is great for triggering limit breaks as well since she casts Hell's Judgment and leaves your character's with 1 H.P. each. I never heal my characters during this battle and keep utilizing the triggered limit breaks since she talks forever and casts Hell's Judgment twice before she even attacks once. Also, if you hit the triangle button if your limit break doesn't trigger then it will switch attack position to the next character and leave you with another chance to get a triggered limit break without wasting your round of attack and having to wait for the ATB bar to fill up again. If you do this, and keep pumping out the limit breaks it is an easy victory.

are you asking us how to beat it without using limit breaks at all or just without squall's, because every charecters max limit break does severe damage.

zell with 12 seconds, irvine fast ammo or demolition ammo, rinoas wishing star and quistis shockwave pulsar all can do around 80,000 damage if beefed up. and dont forget about the end... they all make it pretty simple.

Refine Laguna's and Minotaur's (or the other one, forget the name) and go into battle with a shitload of immunity-granting items.

The End works great. Make sure that Selphie is constantly being thrown Hero's or Holy Wars when she has little HP in the beginning.

This is how I beat the game. =P

Wishing Star is an alternative to Lion Heart...I never really tried summons against the bosses at the end. I figure it would be a waste of time when I can just use Lion Heart and Wishing Star.

Not if you play CS: Source.

Also just junction everyone to the max ( I used Island Closest to Hell)
and use Zell and Rinoa's limit break.

I suck at it but its really fun. I always play on deathmatch servers so I dont have too wait for the next round, I tend to die really quickly.
