This month Final Fantasy VII-Crisis Core will be released in Japan. The long awaited final piece of the FFVII compilation will hit the stores on the 13th. I just wanted to remind you all that are interested that I plan on getting the game and reviewing it right here. Well, considering I don't know Japanese it won't be a review as such but more as a topic about my thoughts on the game after finally playing it. I'll be sure to post screenshots and the like and I might even drop some spoilers for people who really want them.

Still no word on a European or American release though. Still, I can hardly imagine it'll be out this year at all.

I'll keep you updated. :)

why do you need a downgrader??

Because you can't use emulators on a newer firmware, you can turn your PsP into a Nes/Snes/Psone/GBc/GBA. but the firmware must be low, security reasons I think.

I'm guessing they forgot to update it?

I got a better idea, screw the fuckign numbers, AND the fuckign stupid meters. You don't need to know how much you're killing your enemy, OR how much life you have left! [/sarcasm]

Meters suck. They're so imprecise, you never know exactly how much HP you're down, and by how much you need to recover.

Damage numbers are important to have, because at least, then, you know if you're even damaging your enemy or not! I don't know how long I must have slugged away at those enemies in Kingdom Hearts before I discovered I wasn't even hurting them, because they don't give off damage numbers.

As for Samurai Legend Musashi, while you had meters on screen, open up your status, and they gave HP and MP measurements, anyway. Why not just tell me that on screen, so I know which healing items I need to look for? Also, knowing how much my enemy damages me lets me know the strength of healing items I need to pack for the dungeon.

In DoC, the damage numbers aren't even big enough to obscure the scenery. How's seeing damage numbers going to ruin the action?

...

I don't know about you, but gauges in your car that give you a digital display of exactly how fast you're going at the moment (e.g., display that just says "80mph"), and how much of a tank of fuel you have left (e.g., 8 gal) are awexome, as opposed to some damn needle-based gauges, which may malfunction, or are otherwise inaccurate.

Having precise measurements like that in video-games is also awexome.

...

At least they could give the option to toggle numbers on or off, depending whether you like seeing them or not. They need to put more customizable options under the configuration menus, anyway, besides just "Vibration On or Off" or "Mono or Stereo."

[/totally fuckign serious]

Agreed. I was pretty pissed off when my dad sold off his Ford Telstar that has digital readings and bought a craptastic junk car with only analog readings.

On topic, this game might finally give me a reason to buy a PSP. If I can save up for it.

from what i know of the gameplay and the plot of the game so far, its by a fucking mile the best compilation entry, and perhaps even the saving grace of the compilation. i dont want to spoil anything, but i think hardcore FF7 fans will be very happy.
