It's called the Reunion patch. You download it and then replace a certain file in the game's directory with the one given in the patch.

Something you're doing wrong, I expect.

Make sure you extract the file to, C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII\data\field ... It will ask you to modify the file, click yes. Then start up the game... Be aware it only works when your in towns and stuff.. It doesn't work when your crossing from town to town.

A few comments/questions:

Has anyone tried this and played a significant amount of the game with it? If so, does it cause any problems with gameplay or increase the loading times? FFVII on PC always tends to take forever with the FMVs for me anyway, so if this is going to hamper gameplay further, I probably won't bother.

The text and movement seemed a bit stunted too, can't tell if that was just the slow-loading youtube video or not.

If anyone's played with it and can offer some feedback, that'd be great. I know the graphics aren't that much better, but they still look cool. Although I have to admit, some improvement of the text box graphics would not have gone amiss. :)

Didn't try it because I don't own the PC version but I did watch someone play it for a while. Didn't notice any stunting, to be honest, but then again, I am a very distracted person.

oh and by the looks of that little demo video id say that that was a mod version prob not made in america sence the images of cloud tifa and cid where from the FFAC movie

They are remaking VII for the PS3, it's a confirmed fact. Sakaguchi himself said so in a press conference. He also remarked FFVII is bigger than Jesus.

Yes, we have been planning a Final Fantasy VII remake ever since the PS2 was announced. Unfortunately, several other projects got in the way and it was left in development hell. We have finally sorted it all out, and the remake should see the light of day sometime in 2008, for the PS3.

Yes we finally decided to start making it now so that we can promote it with the Tokyo Olympics having Cait Sith as a mascot.To be honest, Marijuana does work when you just can't seem to find anything else to put in the FFVII compilation, damn, Hashimoto is giving me a hard time,so much that sometimes I wish I had stayed monster designer . He always asks for compilation games and I tell him that I am fed up with this shit. After the Olympics though, I' ll be free to make whatever I want in ff14 which will be so awesome, of course with the help of Marijuana,zippers,belts and Spikey hair.

I'm not directly involved in the development of the game (I write some of the dialogue) but according to a memo I received, Tifa's bust has been reduced, they're introducing two new Turks and Buggenhagen does not die. They've also expanded Vincent's story.
