Hey guys, just wondering if any of you Bioshock devotee's would be interested in helping me out in a project, namely that of gathering all of the audio Journals into a managble audio format, MP3 or AAC whatever, cause if I could have some help gathering them, cause I'm a Mac user, and ripping them all through my 360 would be a bitch...) if the Bioshock fans who ripped all of the Score audio from the PC source could help in getting the audio logs out and some how to me, megaupload, whatever, cause if you can, I've got the will to put to them together in a time log, or audio book (as best I can) style presentation, similar to what they did for the Halo 2 Fragmented Audio Bytes on ilovebees.
Anyone up to the task?

Any progress, cause I've got a few more ideas depending on the demand for the audio book radio dramma, like 1st person story telling, or possible some sorta online cast that contributes to the drama, to keep things flowing, between Audio logs and such. And how goes it OrangC?

Question to ye oh great OrangeC, are you ripping direct from source audio files or aiff game ripping? The reason I ask is for the cutscene audio...

Ripping it directly from the FSB files and decompressing the vox compressed wavs into PCM using an FMOD music player.

What audio format will it eventually end up in?

Good luck. Sounds like an interesting enough idea. I find the journals interesting, but I hate standing still and listening to them. Always feel like some bastard splicer is going to crawl behind me and tear me a new asshole.

...stand still to listen to them, just hit play and run. Although, I suppose the screams can get over powering of Andrew Ryan talking about sweat of brow and such...

Also OrangeC .Wave format should work out just fine, I'll still have to tweak the format but I should be able to get it running just fine.

This is for assorted soundbites and about 40 of the audio diaries.

This contains a few more soundbites and ALL of the audio diaries, including the ones from the above link. But, to get all the different soundbites included, you must download both.

It would appear the project I had started is gonna be alive again with this upload of files! Hura! or hoora... or however the hell you spell it...
But yeah, the projects not dead... yet... just been hella busy, I've launched a new gaming podcast for the social gamers blog Kotaku, effectionatly called Kotakuite.
You can find it at www.kotakuite.com, and yeah I know the first two podcasts are really shitty... but time constraints and the ungodly hours I have to do them in are all too late into the morn, but I think we're getting better...

But yeah..... Bioshock radio journel show.... totally at some point in time happening now I've got the files... I'll just add it to the new list of things not accomplished in 07 to my list of things that MUST be accomplished in 08.... joy.... or at least I hope it will be once I find the right voice for lead nameless guy who "didn't" fall outta a plane. Cause I seriously doubt that people want me to attempt a new yorker accent.

But we'll see once I get back to turning the gears on this project.

Also, I'm very supprised that no one has asked me if I *would you kindly* start the project...

Yeah... it's not really gonna be a radio show, but more of a classic radio drama style presentation of the audio logs, and our hero as he journeys through Rapture. At least that was the original idea.
And I do believe that you were one of the first on board for such a thing OrangeC at least before your main computer died and you had to get a temp.

I think what the tentitive plan is to do area 1 of the game, and submit that and see what people think and then if it's all excepted okay, then I'll get to doing the others. But I don't think logicisticly and time wise, this may not see the publics eyes (or ears in this case) till maybe sometime in March.

Also, Hammer 32, what did you think of EP3 of Kotakuite? I thought we did a very much improved show? Your thoughts?

I didn't listen to all of it, what with it being about 3 am when I started listening, but it did sound better. I liked the little theme song in the beginning.

Yeah you can get Fontaines radio transmissions from Orange C's link for the audio files for that. Jebus... I said March for that audio radio dramma.... yeah... it's gonna be way longer than that... I've been busy, so busy I havn't even been keeping up with www.kotakuite.com, ya know, trying to get a job at Valve is a pretty good excuse I think.

Hello all. An update. Sad update. But sad. So I totally utterly fucking botched it. Not saying I was ever incapable of doing it. I think I got about a few hours into the script needed to tie all the existing audio logs together. And truthfully several things happened. Got busy with different forms of paying work and various things in my personal life changed dramatically. I do apologize for any hopes gotten up, as once upon a time my zeal was resolved to do such a thing and shit happened. I am, genuinely quite sorry to all those concerned. Sorry I didn't make more of an dent in the project. Perhaps one day still. You never know. 10 years too god damn late. Sorry for that too. Your all more then welcome to complain at me over on www.dynamicworksproductions.com which is where all my projects ultimately moved too. I know I for one definitely am bothered by the number of incomplete projects, and it has been 10 years... I'm sorry I couldn't finish what I started. I suppose this is the official end of this thread/idea.

Again, sorry to all.
