Any chance of a lossless version of this album being uploaded from the actually ost? Or at least a high quality vbr mp3s?

If I'm reading your request right, then you should be fine with the Dreamcast ripped version. I'm assuming that you want the rip so you have all 3 versions of each stage instead of the mixes from the official soundtrack?

By lossless i meant no compression at all, for example, FLAC or Ape lossless formats instead of mp3. I would imagine the ost would have higher quality on average than direct rips from the DC game. I will give these a try though, thanks.

My misunderstanding. Anyways, GH also has the real ost there too, just so you know. Might be a higher quality.

I don't think they have this specific album? http://www.cduniverse.com/search/xx/music/pid/1221361/a/Street+Fighter+3:+Third+Strike.htm

I see the soundtrack called "Street Fighter 3 New Generation Original Soundtrack", but the music in this soundtrack seems arranged, a little too different from the game for my tastes.

Yeah, I actually have that CD (so does GH), and yes, the music is slightly different. As you know, in SF3-3, each round has a variation in the music. Well, this is a kind of arrangement in which the themes are more or less mixed together to make just one track per fighter.

As for lossless, I'm not sure how to go about it, but if you must have a lossless version of that CD, I can give it a try.

I'm sorry, which CD do you have exactly? If its from the one I provided in the link then I would be satisfied with that. I listened to the samples on the website and they sounded fine to me. It was the one i mentioned on GH that I didn't care much for. I didn't see that particular album on GH, besides the dreamcast rip and the one i mentioned previously.

It doesn't have to be lossless if you don't feel up to it. I would be more than satisfied with Lame vbr v-2 or v-0. I convert most of my lossless music to this format anyway since I don't really notice the difference and it saves space.

Yes, that link is the very same CD I have. Okay, I'll see what I can do for you. Just gotta find the CD first :-P

Well, the conversion is done, and in my ears it sounds really great. However ... IT'S BIG!!! You're looking at under 500Mbs (over 20Mbs per standard song). Does that sound right for FLAC files? (I suppose I could've made it smaller by leaving the voice tracks out. Too late now)

For FLAC it should be about 6MB per 1 minute of audio, so if the songs are 3 or 4 minutes long then yes 20MB would sound about right. I'm trying to learn more about a new, better type of compression for FLAC, it's called FLAKE SVN, I'll post it in my thread as soon as I've learned everything there is to know about it.

For the record, as I already said this project is new to me, I'm using a program called dBpoweramp. Didn't give me a high number of options, but it did the job, so that's all that matters.

Sounds great. I also use DBpoweramp. If you don't have the patience to upload that amount you can just convert those to vbr mp3s (i dont mind). Either way I look forward to the download :)

Heh, I'm currently in the process of uploading to MU as we speak, so gimme about an hour. As I said, 488Mbs and I've included scans.
