For one thing, there were NO Square-Enix employees in existance at the time Final Fantasy VII was made. If 3 out of 4 sites say his birthplace is Turkey, then most of the m can't say his birthplace is unknown. There is only one website that is really pertainent though. That is the official Square-Enix website, which says his birthplace is unknown. Turkey doesn't exist on the planet where FFVII is set. Yes their planet is called Earth, but it's not the same Earth we live on. A very narrow demographic, which had enjoyed the majority of the nation's wealth prior to the war, was the only group who's quality of life declined during the occupation compared to during or even before the war, and they were still richer afterwards, be them becoming the members of the new aristocracy, or fleeing the country to another place where they could continue their lifestyle. It was mostly aristocrats who left Japan. Secondly, Yuffie wasn't Japanese(There is no Japan in this word therefore Japanese people do not exist), she was Wutai(No suffix is added to denote ethnology of places ending in "-ai," Corraborated by the fact that people from Wutai were just called Wutai). South Corel, at the time Barret lived there, was not a ghetto in any sense of the word. Ghettos are by definition divisions of an URBAN area where specific groups have been segregated to dwell, or quite specifically people who live in ghettos are forced to live in them because of their race or religion. South Corel was a small town in a RURAL area, where all the people, regardless of race, class, or religion, lived in the same cluster of houses. In short South Corel was in fact the quite much the exact opposite of a ghetto. North Corel was a nearly identical town to south Corel, until Shinra came an built the Golden Saucer. North Corel became a slum, (not the same as a ghetto, as a slum is defined by class rather than race of creed, as such slums do tend to be worse than ghettoes.) only after Barret was gone, and South Corel was annihilated.
