Press Square instead of X when talking to people. If they're players, they'll ask you if you want to play.

With Final Fantasy VIII, it doesnt really matter what your level is, though personally i would be around level 50 mainly because i get the level 3 versions of magiks before i even enter balamb.

a strategy to the game is to stay as low level as possible until you have the ragnarok so you can use all available Stat bonus skills , ie str bonus from Ifrit.

so ultimately the 5 exp is no problem, it will become a problem when you don't receive the usual AP, which of normal monsters is about 1 - 3

reason being that with FF8, the monsters level up as your characters level up.
unlike FF7 where creatures have a fixed ammount of whatever , heath, level mp etc.

dont worry about your level, worry about your gf's learning stuff and obtaining 100 of magic.

so your doing fine, but if fail the Great Salt Lake, then theres something your missing.

( you'll know what i mean when you get there :P )

Good Luck!!!

Wait you finished disk 3, well I don't know why it's doing that, that's very odd.

Is there not a way for him to go to the two islands and level up? You know, before entering Ultimecia's Castle.

Sure, it's possible to get the Ragnarok back on Disc 4 by exiting one through one of the portals on the path that leads to Ultimecia's Castle, then obtaining a chocobo from the Chocobo Holy Forest.

I'm not sure how much that's going to help though if the game is glitched. The reason I asked was because if it was PC version, then I was hoping to examine the savefile.

How would one examine the save file (I have the PC version)?

The savefiles are stored in a "Save" folder within the directory where you have game installed --- they can be uploaded onto the web.

Yes, but which tool would one use to "examine" it? I assume you're using some kind of a tool to examine it?

Yep, that would indeed have been the "examination."
