Im curious to see if anyone else around here is into editing their favorite albums or whatnot.
In the case of a typical game soundtrack (lets use older Capcom works as an example, SF, Megaman, ect), the track will have a loop to allow the track to play twice. Me, on the other hand, I like to use a wave editor to create a second loop to allow the track to play 3 times. Ive done this to just about every album I have, except for Guilty Gear and FF7 which Ive just never gotten around to doing because I dont listen to them that much anymore. Anyways
Of course, this can be a problem if the single loop is too long. Take for example One-Winged Angel. The single play is about 4minutes long. If I were to do my editing, itd end up being 12 minutes long, and that ends up a bit too long. What I do is primarily for songs which (when played as a double play) tends to be 2minutes or less, which is too short.
The other edits Ive done were for only a very small handful of songs. One example is the boss music for BIGBANG BEAT. If anyones heard it, its a looping vocal track which is pretty long. Well, with my editor program, I looped it twice for my liking, but between the first and second play, Ive removed the solo interlude, and after the third play I stop the track right after the last vocal is sung, thus now it feels more like a song and less like a game track.
So what do any of you like to do with your music or do you just prefer to leave it as is, unblemished in its original intention?
