OK
i junctioned AERO and stuff to my elm defence. i have only 20. squall is lvl 22, with rinoa lvl 14 and zell lvl 16. rinoa and zell are kinda weak, idk wht GF to equip on each of them to get the maz options for these lvls. i have all GF untill that dude tht has wind magic stuff.. forgot his name... the one with the wind zone/tornado zone. idk.. XD
ANYWAYZ! they have realy really reallly low HP, and aqualls DMG is like 300+ (sometimes 400 O_O) and zell's about 100~, and rinoa's really really low, like.. 50.. -_-
squall has all GF's junctions but the GF's tht zell and rinoa has, which are siren - rinoa, and the levinathan (?? tsunami guy), diablos - zell.
squall has the 3rs upgrade of the gunblade, and zell has the 2nd, idk whts the names. rinoad still have the 1st. XP

Well, I have only one suggestion: level up. Dispite the fact that the game's enemies level up with you, levelling up would be a good idea as it allows you to do more damage. Also, try using your GFs to battle?

When he casts triple on himself, try to dispel it...It will help a lot.. Also yes level up. I also recommend if you haven't already, stock up on 100 firaga thunderga and blizzardga and curaga for all 3 characters. It's easy to get it now, because some of the galabian soldiers will have all 4 of the spells.

What I usually did was cast Reflect on Cerberus. That way, whenever he did cast Triple, it would bounce off him and come to you.

Haha yea he is a beast but you can do it. IDX has a good idea with the whole Reflect thing. I never thought about that. Gots to use the float for when he does that Quake attack. It's a real killer. I used that with shell and haste, but sometimes he will dispel it  . Also, drawing and casting Triple on atleast one party member could be a great help as you can cast multiple healing spells.

Good luck.

I think it's those hockey players in the ice rink. I don't totally agree with the idea of leveling up. If you do that Cerberus will only get stronger as well. I mean you will get access to those 3 elemtal spells (firaga, thundaga, blizzaga) but you don't necessarily need it. To each his own I suppose but I sorta just relied on triple/float/haste/shell/healing and summon spells for the battle. Just make sure you have enough potent magic+HP junctions to survive the first onslaught of spells as you get settled in with all that.

ALSO: From what I remember Diablo works pretty well.

Diablo works exceedingly well against him, as a matter of fact. Dispeling the Triple he casts on himself is definitely the key to defeating him. Make sure to heal your characters frequently, especially after he casts Quake or pulls off a critical hit with his tail.

I don't really rely on summons or magic. In fact, I don't even have the magic option in my list. I'll use GFs occasionally, but I usually just pummel them with physical attacks. It's powered by magic (that I change according to the boss's weaknesses) so I don't have to worry that much. And also depending on whether the boss casts a certain elemental spell, I junction that to my characters (or just Squall if I don't have enough for everyone) so that they can heal everytime they're attacked. The only magic that I will cast is Meltdown for its status effect.

i think you need to be around level 30. Then level 30 galbadia soldiers will fight you, and they have all 4 spells.

lol i dont think im gonna lvl tht much just for this. unless i'll really really need it. also, IDX, my phisical attacks are worthless. they hit 50, 100. and 400 for squall only T_T.
also, my biggest problem is the fact tht their HP are so very LOW! rinoa's and zell's are like 850! O_o and squalls 1900+.. i need to find a good junction of GF's for everyone. cause junctioning all to squall really wont do it. :P

haha man, I have no idea how people can say anyone in VIII is hard. Any enemy, be it boss or otherwise, can be beaten by the simple use of Squall's Renzokuken.

If you have an in-depth knowledge of the junction system FFVIII is a rather easy game to beat. Cerberus is one of the harder bosses, but really just junction 100 Regens or Curagas to your HP and you'll have no problem for most of them.

junction approximatley 72 Ultimas or more to HP/ or use auto def. or have squall and irvine use their limit breaks repeatedly using aura

just a suggestion

Ceidwad

The original poster would not have access to Aura at that point in the game. And getting 72 Ultimas would take forever as the only way to get them at that point would have been to re-use the Shumi Village draw point approximately 15 times.

That, and judging from the fact the original poster finds Cerberus particularly hard anyway and therefore would likely not even know about the draw point in Shumi Village, leads me to believe your strategy wouldn't work so well.

I'd say Argus Zephyrus' tactics would be more than sufficient to beat him.
