I have just gotten into New Archades and my 3 main characters levels are Vaan -32
Ashe - 30
Penelo - 29

Are these levels too low? Too high or just right. Im not sure. While im in archades im not going to continue the story yet as im thinking about leveling a lot more.

save in archades and continue into the draklor labs if enemies are too tough restart and go level

I was round lvl. 40 and I found the enemies relatively easy so maybe mid to high thrities is good.

you should level up to about level 45-50 because its going to be alot easier through the rest of the game since u have to fight Dr cid and all of them imperial gaurds

Well Vaan is now level 33 and Penelo and ashe are 30 and 31

I went to the Draklor Laboratory and it was very hard so inm leveling quite a bit more. Then i walked into the room with all the lab rats.... That was fun ;] But thats where i died.

the best place to level up for where you are is against the wendigos and strikers in the sochen cave palace. just round that ring a few times then move two zones away and repeat... works a charm

Strikers.... Are too powerful for me.... :O

That reminds me...I haven't bought new weapons or armour in a long time. Time to make some money and get some better stuff.

If you're looking to level up, then one of your first priorities for that gil should be to get the Embroidered Tippet that gives you double EXP. There's a merchant just inside Old Archades that sells it --- should be the first merchant you get to after you get there.

Yes i will get money to get some of those or double experiance but im going to keep the Golden Amulets at the moment to try and get everything i need on the licence board e.g. Completed Augments weapon/armour licences and full magick .

at the moment your priority should be levelling up, augments can wait. If strikers are too strong for you your in serious trouble. Either your levels are too low or your tactics are terrible. But if your strong enough you shouldnt need good tactics for the strikers.
The best place t level up before archades is golmore jungle.......

Oh damn i jhave just rembered... For ashe i have a weapon that has only 30 attack power! I need to change that. And i need to change armour for Ashe and penelo. I have COMPLETELY forgotten about that. If i remmber rightly ashe has a leather headgear helm...Thats bad.

Also do you think i should get Blathier (14) Fran(14) and Basch (12) to the level 30's? I mean it gives me something to do and is always helpful when my other charcters go down. But that means sepnding more money as i have sold all there weapons.

personally i think you should just work on your three main characters.. YOu dont really need a second party if your primary characters are sufficiently strong...... keep at the levelling up........ we have finally established that your party is too weak armour and weapons aside.

Golmore is as good as it gets for leveling up...... but once you think you are strong enough for the strikers and wendigos, they are truly tht best levellng potential you have for that part of the game

Ok thanks. I have quite a strong weapon for Penelo - Iron Pole and Vaan- (One of the katanas....-.-') Anyway im going to play on final fantasy and will keep you updated as i go along.

I might just do a few hunts to be honest for the money ;].

Oh that reminds me... I never killed the Elder Wyrm in Golmore jungle..... I was too low level so i decided to skip it and find my way through the fey wood... Anyway myust be off... Im going to kick some elder wyrm butt

I will do the best weapon vote... I just killed the elder wyrm with my whole party gone with only vaan left and he was in beserk mode so he couldnt heal or anything. He had about 100hp left as well :P

good for you, just beat the hellwyrm which has 10 million health. Found him easy bbut just laborious. Goin off to kill yiazmat now, 50 million health, with my masamune by my side nothing can beat me

Well at the moment im in the Ogir Yensa sand sea grinding for LP and money. The xp isnt that great but i dont care as i need to save up for better weapons and armour.
Im glad you can still earn quite a bit of money in the Ogir/Nam Yensa sand sea without selling loot. + more when i do sell my loot.


Ashe is now level 33.

i still think your best bet for money and xp is the strikers, can you take them yet

No not yet.... I am amking money for armour and THEN i can take them ;]

What armour are you going for, i would recommend heavy armour for your damage dealer and mystic armour for your spellcaster.........
As for your last character, it really depends how you use him, if you use him as a tank i would go for light armour bt if hes a second dmg dealer go for heavy and if hes a supporting character i would go for mystic armour

Ok well i defeated cid... He was EASY! Probably the easiest boss i have ever fought. I didnt even need to kill the rooks i just used quickenings.

I think im all sorted wit weapons and armour for now and my levels are

Vaan -37
Ashe -35
Penelo-35 :P
