I was searching for some Deadlocked music on GH, and I found none, so I decided to do it myself.

Here you can download it (not direct links. sorry): http://hosted.filefront.com/pikyofblake/2022168

Mirror if you wish. I plan on recording the other tracks soon.
It has a bit of feedback noise because I used a mic.

Hey, I've recorded just about every track on Ratchet: Deadlocked (despite it being an awful game) without using a microphone (direct connection, great quality). If you know where I can post them (I tried MP3 section in gh.ffshrine.org but those dirtballs didn't reply to my email) then please tell me so you and whoever else wants it can download it. I know there are a LOT of people who want it and nobody has done it yet except us. I've recorded every soundtrack to the Ratchet series (except the PSP game) and I'd like to put at least Deadlocked somewhere for people.

Put all your tracks in a zip or rar file, and upload the zipped file on megaupload. Then post the download link here.

Thank you if you upload!

I will. I tried uploading before, but it didn't work. I'll try again and hopefully have it up by this weekend because I'll have access to those files no earlier then Friday. Sorry about the delay.

There you go! One somewhat complete, high-quality recorded soundtrack of the PS2 game, Ratchet: Deadlocked. Finally, I can share this! Feel free to post these anywhere else, too. Just make sure I get credit or whatever. David Bergeaud is the man! His best work is Ratchet and Clank 2, in my opinion. I wish I could write like him...

Um, forgive me if I am terribly wrong now, I dled a Ratchet Deadlocked rip a week ago or something and I believe it was yours. If your rip has 37 numbered tracks and one extra, then what I'm saying below applies to you:

In answer to your question: Frankly NO. The quality isn't even near acceptable, sorry. You have used 64kbps and the music sounds like it's in mono, despite Winamp telling me it's stereo. Recording music in 64kbps mono mp3 is like trying to copy the Mona Lisa by photographing it in black and white from a 100 metres distance. A good rip has a bitrate of at least 192kbps and a decent stereo sound.

I am not meaning to disencourage, only enlighten ;). I appreciate your work. Keep it up, but with better bitrate please! :)

I agree. If the quality was at least 192 kbs then i would be even more happy. If you are concerned about uploading time then compress it with the 7-zip 7z format. It it better than any other at compressing.

It's not a rip. As I told you before, it was a recording I made by plugging the audio cables of my PS2 into my PC, setting the audio in-game for music only, starting up each mission, and recording through the input with Sony Soundforge 7.0. Of course it's not good quality because it's not a rip. I've tried ripping Ratchet: Deadlocked before, but I couldn't. I only posted my recordings because nobody else with more ripping experience cared enough to do the Ratchet: Deadlocked soundtrack. I know a lot of people who wanted it, and I figured since I already have it (because I made it for myself a year ago) I should make it available to anyone else who, like me, has not yet located a real complete rip of the game's soundtrack and would settle for something a little less than "good." Sorry it doesn't live up to your standards. By all means, if you personally can rip it, feel free to post it for us.
PS: I have 7-Zip already, thanks :)

Sorry that I confused words, by "rip" I also include analog recorded sound. I rip/record/insertpropertermhere via the line-in on my mp3 player, pretty much like you do. Still, I usually encode my recorded sounds in 224kbps or higher. It sounds so much better. And perhaps you're one of these people who has computers that for reasons unknown only record the left channel of a stereo signal, that may explain the monoaural sound in your recording. I had that problem a long time ago before I broke my old computer's sound card (yeah I actually did :D)

Alright, thanks. I'm not experienced in doing these things. I especially never expected to post it anywhere online. This was just a personal project and I was unaware of how to make quality recordings. I don't think I will be able to redo the recordings to repost them, partially because I will be too busy now that classes have started up again and partially because I really don't want to drag my PS2 and TV closer to my computer and then spend another 4 hours in front of my computer pressing the record button and waiting for each track to play through once. I would so much rather learn how to rip the music to save time and work. Thanks.

sugarboy, did you rip the Ratchet games? Digitally? Have you/can you also rip the Crash Bandicoot games? It's a long shot but I've been looking for wave/flac rips of the Crash games for ages...

Yes, but ghoulies' thread (and gh, and myself) only has mp3:s. I'm looking for uncompressed files. You can't turn an mp3 into a true lossless file, because sound data is forever lost during mp3 compression. But thank you for your help :)
