I know this maybe a stupid question to some people, but does anyone know a good and fast way to get gil??? I am at Rabanastre and I am on my way to going to Nalbina( I just completed Stilshrine of Miriam and have just defeated Judge Bergan). Every piece of loot i have had recently is not worth much. Please can you people help me.

Hunt... go out hunt, get loot and then sell it. It's probably the best way you can get gil. That and do as many as the hunts that you can.

*MAP SPOILER*

1. Go to the Feywood (South of Golmore jungle, the story hasn't taken you there yet). In the southern-most part next to the blue save crystal, there are about 12 monsters called Mirrorknights. They drop insanely good items worth $1k-$4k. Kill them, zone out 2 screens, come back, repeat. You can make $200k with a chain of maybe 80-90. They have about ~6,000 HP.

*End spoiler*

2. Otherwise, just go to the skeleton killing fields. There's the usual one in Lhusu Mines, and another one in the southern-most part of Golmore jungle. The skeletons are harder there, but they have better drops. You have to clear out all the other monsters before the skeletons spawn.

Get the monographs ("ancient grimoire" in the Bazaar) for better loot drops. It costs a lot to buy them, but it pays off.
The aformentioned skeleton areas are great for gil harvesting, too.
And if you chain monsters of the same type, you get better/more loot.

Ogir Yensa Sand Sea, kill an ass hat worth of the little men, only the little men, and after you've killed about 100+ of them you should have plenty of Gil.

That doesn't work if you're as far ahead as the poster of this thread is, only when you go there for the story.

firstly the ancient grimoires are special items you buy from the bazzar after fulfilling special conditions, most have to do with talking to different kinds of merchants a certain ammount of times:
SAges monograph: Speak to merchants 100 times
Hunters monograph: Defeat the mark thextera, then talk to gatsly in muthru bazzar arear in rabanstre
Knights monograph: Talk to weapons merchants 25 times
Dragoons Monograph:Examin any hunt noticeboard 40 times
Mages Monograph: Talk to magik merchants 25 times
Warmages Monograph: Examine hunt noticeboard 20 times
Scholar Monograph: Talk to armour merchants 15 times

When you have fulfilled these conditions, these mongraphs will appear in the bazzar section of shops as forgotten grimoires.

As to what they do, they make monsters drop extra items, mostly weak monsters just drop pebbles which are useles but with more powerful monsters you can get very good items.

As to getting gil fast, create a chain of panthers on the path of chained light in the golmore jungle and then just move two zones away and then return so the panthers respawn.

Aside from terabyte's advice about mirror knights in the Feywood, the skeleton spam zones are really the be all and end all for EXP, LP and gil. There are three in the game, the first is in the Lushu Mines, the second is in the south of Golmore Jungle (kill all the normal enemies). The last one is in the Nabreus Deadlands, in a "secret" area that's not on the map. You'll go there both to hunt Roblon and as part of the whole Nabradia sidequest thing. Make sure you have the Warmage's Monograph.

Maybe there the be all and end all for gil. But for experience it has to be the abysteels in the pitbull junction c. Nothing beats it for experence though.
