I got this game last year for my birthday. It was one of the best games that I have ever played. I got through most of the game pretty easy. But then once I got to Sephiroth at the end I got stuck. Every time I can get his life down alot but then he has to go and use Super Nova and wipes out everyone except Cloud. Then I only get one or two more hits in on him and he kills me. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to beat Sephiroth?

-Be sure to stand in the back row in battle.
-You can build up quickly in the secret area (Try "gamefaqs.com" to get info).
-Master independant materia to boost character stats.

Many other ways to improve. :)

Exploit the 'W-Item glitch' if you have the 'W-Item' materia. Basically it allows you to multiply items used in battle.

Supernova is a gravity based attack meaning it can't kill you, the only danger is the shitty, over-exaggerated attack animation.

Get Knights of the Round and Omnislash, they should help a lot.

Load yourself up with HP Plus materia. That should cover it.

Yeah HP Plus materia is one of the better ones in the game, gah talking about all this is making me want to get this game again.

I would personally do some level up while searching for each character's best weapons and equipment. Getting Omnislash would help a lot as well.

You should try again when your characters are at least around level 60. At this level, I think it is almost impossible to lose against Sephiroth.

60? o_O I had trouble with him at level 80.

I'd say get your guys to 95+ to make it easier, make shitty characters less useless when you use 2 teams, and stock up on phoenix downs. Omnislash, while very useful, is incredibly hard to get (all I remember about getting it). As are the most useful summons... I couldn't be arsed breeding a gold chocobo for knights of the round... I'm gonna end up playing this game again... xD

You had problem beating him at 60??? Geez guys, what do you do when you play RPG games? Do you only use fight during battles?

At 95, sure, Sephiroth can stand about 2-3 rounds before my characters (even less if I'm lucky and Cloud counter-mimes with Omnislash).

But at 60, he offers at least a bit of resistance and have the time to cast one Super Nova.

But he's never a threat to me at this level.

Circle-strafe him while whittling his health down with your Minigun/Laser Rifle/Cannon.

Well if you are looking for help still, the thing to do to beat his Super NOva killing everybody is to use "Final Attack" paired with "Phoenix", so that way when ever all of your guys die ull use phenix and it will revive everybody

Lor!!From what i remember Sephiroth is pretty easy.Just boots ur lv to 99 and just attack him using four cut/slash,He will died befole U knew it.Just remember to heal Yourself if your hp low.Emerald and Ruby Weapon is much much difficult.

go there download the jenova save editor program and put your characters with lvl 99 then you can beat sephiroth ,cool program you can even play with sephiroth

Mr. Seifer, you do realize that this can also be done with the Debug Room, right? That's how I'd go about it.

But I had my characters use their limits whenever possible and used Knights of the Round alot.

Remove first the Wall from him and use than the Limit-attacks or the 4 Cut attack

I am not new to RPG's one of the main reasons I cant beat him is my guys are really low leveled. Since I didn't have much trouble getting through most of the game I had no need to level up. In some other Final Fantasy games I did have to level up alot like in FFX and FFIX.

Actually (if I remember right) Sephiroth level in the final battle depends on Clouds level, so a low lvl is not really a problem... if one can get pass jenova then seph shouldn't be a problem i think... but i could be wrong there.

I used regeneration a lot, the limits.... should be a pice of cake.
and btw the first times i played VII IO never had knights of the round, rare materias you only get during sidequests or even omnislash... it works without, too.

If you want an easy way which requres not overly large ammounts of work, go to the sunken gelnika in the submarine, get the 2x cut materia and level it up to a four cut materia.. TO do ths easily you need a lot of elixers. W-item is the only way you can get enough elixers. then go down the northern crater and find the room where you found the shield materia.... in there you fight enemies called magic pots, give them two elixers and then kill them. they give you a load of experience and ap. it goes up even faster if you have clouds apocolypse sword or cids scimitar.... then you should beat him no bother

If you have knights of the round, it will only take a couple of summons to kill him. if you dont, get 2x attack from the sunken plane. Go to the north crater with alot of elixers. you can do this using the 'W-Item' glitch. go to the map where you find the shield and fight the magic pots. use 2 elixers on them then kill them. each magic pot gives you 8000exp and 1000ap. when you level 2x attack to 4x attack, go fight sephiroth, just keep your health up. use debarrier when you get into the fight.

The best thing you could do is to use haste and w-magic or w-summon, and mime if you have it.

or you could just level your characters up.

i got all of my chars to level 99 and i did all of the side quests before i killed sephiroth (this includes killing emerald and ruby weapon). i killed him before he attacked me with supanova.
