Does anyone know a good free MMO to play that you can do solo and has really good quests to help you level up, instead of just grinding?

I've heard of one called 'RuneScape', I have no idea what it's like though, never got around to trying it.

I'm playing two F2P MMOs right now...

There's Silkroad, which has quests but they get boring after a while since it's basically "kill a certain amount of enemies" or "obtain a certain amount of items from enemies"... It's not really fun to go alone though. There are some really bad things about this game. Mainly, the GMs don't do crap, so there are alot of bots everywhere. And server traffic gets really bad since it's F2P forever. If you decide to play I would suggest playing in a new server so it isn't too crowded.


Second I've started playing Granado Espada. I think you could probably solo this one. It's not decided if it's going to be F2P or P2P yet, and it's still in open beta. This one's a little different since you can actually have 3 people in your party at a time. Quests are pretty decent but since there's a patrol feature people usually level up that way. Basically you press a button and your characters kill any monsters that come close to you. After a certain level it's easier to level up through quests though.

Umm, You just described Guild Wars in a nut shell. Either this was purposely done or you need to do your homework before just coming on a forum asking for help, when you put no effort into trying.

Yeah thanks for the Info. I have tried SilkRoad but the quests got boring. And ive tried LineageII and Rappelz, but the quests got boring aswell. Usally go kill x of monsters...
I brought WoW the other day so i'm happy with that for the time being.

Guild wars has no monthly fee but is not free.

FlyFF - It's a nice game, but I wouldn't reccomend it as it's sorta a grind. The PvP is pretty good though. If you do decide to play this, don't decide to quit until after level 20, the game picks up a bit by then as you get your class skills. My main character is a Jester, and I have to say it's quite a fun class to play. Insane critrate and they have an awesome counterattack skill that stuns the enemy when they attack you from close range, and also the second most powerful damage skill in the game, Hit of Penya, which is universally feared in the PvP arena.

9Dragons - There's a decent amount of quests, and some nice minigames to break things up. (Chi Breathing, Training new skills) It isn't too grindy until high levels. Very big emphasis on martial arts. I haven't played much, but I plan on being a Phantom Demon.

Oh ok i might give 9Dragons a shot if WoW doesnt work. Lol...i doubt that though :). Thanks for your suggestion. MMO's is pretty cool, but shouldn't be a grind fest even if some of them are free.

The one I play is Knight Online. It's completely free, but you can pay monthly if you want. If you decide to pay that, you level up faster, get more items at cheaper prices, etc. I'm perfectly fine without paying for it and the community is great. You can find many people out there who will help you in quests and stuff.

Rappelz got pretty boring early on as the quests were really bland. The server loads were rough on my patience as well.

Oh, and football season started, so I went back to college football on Saturdays and playing NCAA 2007.

Silkroad, 9dragons, Flyff and Rappelz are all crap.

Whats good about Runescape? Is the quests good? I just ask cos i like other people opinions rather than something thats gonna be biases.

Well If you want to get straight to killing people, I would suggest Moparscape, but if you like the quests and leveling up, play runescape.
