Squall of Leonhart

Hey

I was told recently that Squall seems to winge and complain a lot in FFVIII. I haven't played the game all the way through but I did get up to that maze bit. And I don't remember him whinging much...is it just my memory or what? The character profile etc says that Squall is a lone wolf, and all this stuff, and nothing really suggests that he'd be a bit of a whinger. I was under the impression he'd just say "whatever." He wouldn't whine about it. The suggestion just seems a little out of sync with the character. Or is it my lack of knowledge?

Replies appreciated

he didn't even whine when he got owned by Edea with the ice shard that impaled his body, if that didn't make him whine what would? :D

I wouldn't say that he whined a lot, but he did seem incredibly asocial. He always seemed to mumble something back when people spoke to him.

Yeah, I'd say the only time he really did anything that could be at all considered "whining" was when someone tried to press him to say what was on his mind. And even, then, more than half the time, it was in his head.

Thanks a bunch, I think they're probably getting Squall mixed up with someone else. :D

Yeah. If he does whine, it's most likely when he's thinking or as Agent put it, mumbling it. I don't really remember there being too many times where he does whine though.

Hahaha...nice.

But yeah, I just found Squall to be extremely anti-social rather than "whiney". All in all I support everyone's opinions so far.

Well, the only time I've seen Squall whine in public so far is when he shouts out that he refuses to be spoken of in past tense and then runs out of the room while in Galbadia Garden. All other apparent whinings happens in his mind. And the only reason he whined then was because he's under the pressure of thoughts about Seifer.

He just simply doesn't want people to talk about him they way the did about Seifer when he dies. Even though they were rivals and such, he might've actually felt sad knowing (before actually knowing, lol) that Seifer was dead. All in all, his reaction is normal.

He also whines a bit when he is made the leader of the cause against Edea because he doesn't feel like he can do that job and he doesn't want that responsibility. I recall him standing on the control bridge of Balamb Garden when this happens.

I don't remember him whining that much. Only when he was pressed by people on something did he whine a little.

Either way, he doesn't whine at all that much. It seems that he gets annoyed alot though but usually keeps to himself, even though we can read his thoughts. So he's not really a whiner in my books because he's not like "OMFG!! THAT'S SOOO NOT FAIR!!!"

That would be Tidus they're confusing him with. XD

As for Squall, he snarks at people, he doesn't whine at them. One of the reasons I actually like him.

Exactly.
