After playing other ff's I realised that their are very few houses (e.g Balamb has TWO). Do you think it would have made the game a lot better if their were more so you get a better picture of what people thought about what was going on?

Naaaah, i don't think anything could save that game. It was just bad, some extra houses wouldn't do much. All that may have made it worse.

I don't think they would be needed anyways. FF9 had big towns and whatnot but you couldn't visit all the houses and the ones you could were pretty much epmty with nothing in them, maybe a potion in one out of 4-5 had one. So it would be a waste of memory or whatever.

It was good this way, besides If they had many houses you could enter in Esthar you would still be busy entering some houses x_X
It was good the way it is, It prevents you from spending hours in the city, whilst you could just go on with the story.

I think it would have made the game loads better. It makes the game seem bigger

If you ask me, there's only so much you can do anyway. Final Fantasy games have never really had the feel to me that they're being played in "real time." Oh, yes, the world's about to end. Let's just dodder around the World Map for days and days and it doesn't matter.

<font color=red face="comic sans ms">I think the towns were okay as they were. Adding more houses would have just meant that you would spend more time in towns than you need to. There isn't much to do in the houses anyway, and some of them are empty. The fact that there are no treasure chests in FF8 means that there isn't really much they could have done in the extra houses. So yeah, it was ok as it is. :)
