I'm trying to beat it 100% the first time through, and it's taking FOREVER. Between having to charge my Gameboy and fighting the stupid power switch (it's three years old... And works when it chooses to >.<) I just want to know what happens/how it ends. ~thanks in advance!

Try looking through a non-spoiler-friendly walkthrough? Or the a copy of the game's dialog script?

Spoilers

The game ends with a final battle against Llednar which is a kind of an alter-ego of Mewt's desire to stay in Ivalice, after the battle, there's a long speech about responsability and how you need to face your everyday problems, they all go back together, then the game ends with Mewt standing up for himself in cthe playground, and the sort.

If you try to go for the 100% completion, you'll have to do a small arc of quests against the judges with Mewt's father on your party, after you win Marche gets a Judge sword.

Woot. So, the book doesn't get explained, ever? I got the game secondhand (My friend had lost the handbook soon after getting the game). When I looked up a job-class guide, it had a explanation of the history of Mewt's book, and I thought it might be tied-in somewhere.
