What is your most used Blue Magic throughout your FFVIII Game.
Note: Not your FAVORITE, but your MOST USED Blue Magic.
They are not always the same.

Mine is the Micro Missiles, very useful for carding. Used more than Degenerator.

Degenerator is probably about the only one that I really used, made levelling up on ICTH pretty quick. :p

Yeah, I have to agree with the consensus here. I hardly ever used any of Quistis's blue magic except for Degenerator. Which, indeed, totally, Quistis ---> Initiative / Aura or Low HP / Degenerator / level-up abuse.

I use Degenerator also.

I think Mighty Guard was the most useful. Haste, regen, barriere, shell, float and probably some other shit. I never used anything else.

Actually, I don't think Mighty Guard was nearly that helpful in this game --- it's my understanding that it only gave Shell and Protect in this one.

You're right. I forget what he's talking about but it's not mighty gaurd .... oh it's mad rush I believe, Beserk, haste, shell, protect, and float.

Mighty Guard was pretty random in this game, it could give you any of those stats or just a few or one or whatever. Way too random, I went with Degenerator.

Degenerator for me too. I didn't find the others that much use really.

It's a tossup twixt Degenerator an' Shockwave Pulsar.

I know I usually always got float and haste too.

I used Shockwave Pulsar and Mighty Guard a LOT during bosses, but nowhere near as much as I used Degenerator leveling up.

degenerator it was how I leveled on the Island Closest to Hell before I got Lionheart

I've used Degenerator maybe 5 times. I prefer to use my anti-Malboro setup and keep Quistis out of my party at ALL COSTS.

The Ones I used the most were
Shockwave Pulsar
Bad Breath
LV? Death
White Wind
Mighty Guard
I Used these 5 to their fullest. No matter what battle at least 2 to 3 were useful everytime.

Can someone tell me about Degenerator, what it does. I never played with Quistis. ^_^

You're not really supposed to revive old threads here. If you want to talk about something and there isn't a thread on the first couple of pages, create a new one.

By the way, Degenerator kills normal enemies. Against bosses it's useless.

And also, I used Micro Missiles the most. It actually worked against a lot of bosses, and was pretty damn useful when it did.

Well I never seen this thread before.

I mainly used homing laser as I found very damn useful. It was powerful and seemed to negate a lot of peoples guards.

Degenerator is great for defeating Malboros outside Esthar Useful if your gathering Malboro Tentacles For Doomtrain.

Degenerator rocks...But Shockwave Pulsor is the god of all Blue Magic...

Degenerator was cool and all but I found it way too cheap. I still used it but Shockwave pulsar was much cooler plus the >10k dmg was great. Haven't played any ps1 ff's in a while. its been years since I touched 8.

As far as flaming for bringing up an "old" thread...1yr+ I think constitutes a flaming maybe....not 5 mos

I think it's in the moderators interests to decide if a post should or should not have been revived, so perhaps leaving it that.

As for Blue Magic, I've never used Quistis in previous rounds and have just started playing VIII again and have been trying to accomplish a 'perfect' save with each and every thing done in the game, and of course, to have all Blue Magic for Quistis. Whilst levelling up with her in my party I've found Degenerator about the only particularly useful one. Comes good against Ruby Dragons and Marlboro's.

Tip for anyone who doesn't know though - When on the Island Closest to Hell, junction one or two of your party members with Zombie to their status attack and then use the supporting party member to use the command 'Revive'. Makes life so much easier (though it doen't work on Hexadragon or Ruby Dragon - just whip the Hexadragon with Kamikaze and revive your player after the battle if they don't require the EXP and take the Ruby out with Zell's Meteor Strike ;))

Someone mentioned Marlboro's outside Esther? Any idea exactly where? I'm hunting for Curse Spikes and these guys have a tendency to drop ten at a time if it's not Marlboro tentacles.

Malboros tend to appear every three or four battles on the beige-coloured cliffs with forests on them to the west of the Esthar continent.

I hope you're able to find the place I mean on the basis of that advice!

I tried there and got bombarded with Mesmerize and those fat little catterpillar things. I'll give it another go! Cheers.
