Why is it so hard to find a site that have these on it? I've tried all of the major sites, but they mostly carry NES, SNES, SEGA and other vintage ROMS like that, but never any PSX ROMS.

My question: Is it more illegal to host these ROMS than it is to host NES ROMS for example?

Also, if you know of a site that have PSX ROMS, do link me up. :D

PSX ROMS take up a shitload more storage space than the others, for one.

I mean, you could have every single NES, SNES and SEGA ROM in existence in the same space you would put just ONE PSX ROM.

And bandwidth is expensive.

Also: You can just do a ROM search with Shareaza for PSX games and download them that way, nobody bothers to create a website with them because of the file-sharing networks.

OK, first off, you're smart enough to know that this goes in general gaming.

In addition to what Odin said, I'd wager people are probably more hesitant to host PS ROMs simply because Snoy still produces systems that can play them and thus has more of a stake in preventing their spread than Nintendo does with things like NES and SNES (though that might change with virtual console I guess.) People are probably just more afraid of it.

This (http://romhustler.net/roms/psx) might help.

Ignore these two unless you like having your computer flooded with spy/ad/malware.

emuparidise is a very good site and i've had no problems with any ad/spy/malware, its actually not hard to find PSX roms, for me its harder to find a PSX emulator that will work on my computer

Lol, were you stupid enough to click on their ads or something? Other than that i can see no reason why emuparadise would flood your computer with spy/ad/malware. I've used emuparadise a ton and i've never had any hint of spy/ad/malware.

Anyways, the reason it's hard to find psx roms is because they're large and take longer to upload imo. I highly doubt it's because they're scared of being caught, regardless if sony is still developing consoles that can play them. It doesn't matter whether or not the console is still being developed, it's whether or not the developers can be bothered trying to stop the spread of roms or not.

It's illegal to download them even if you own the original games.

It's not illegal to download them if you don't download them.

Torrent search engines like Mininova and Isohunt are also worth looking into, especially for those of you who may not have "decent" internet connections, so there's no need to bang one's head at all. n__n

Edit: I've downloaded a few from this place (www.bubbling-iso.com/download.php).
