We know Tidus says he's the star player in Zanarkand but when you play him he's only like level 2 or 3... so how can be a star player for the ZA be so weak? I mean come on!!!!

Auron already went around with Braska and Jecht and hes on level 1 too. The game would be too easy otherwise.

i think they think he's "star player" because he's "jechts blood" and he's the son of the famous blitzball player jecht, who is believed to be the "best".

It's how games with leveling systems work. In X-2 Yuna and Rikku start over at level one; in Xenosaga Ep. II-III the characters start at level 1 again no matter what level they were at in the previous ep(s) [though, you do get rewards for those previously levels if you load your saved games].

Tifa even pokes fun at it in Advent Children:

Men , Tidus is has good as any blitzball player in the game
he was a star player back in Zanarkand because e was the son of jecht and jecht was known as a great player , but that doesnt mean is a "star player"

I recalled in one random encounter (forgot which place) of Auron commenting about the enemies at present being more formidable to those in Braska's time. Don't know if this exists in the Japanese version of the game though.:-\

Well once you get his HP up and if you taught him the Jecht shot, he actually becomes pretty impossible to stop. In my last 10 game league season, I scored 51 goals in 10 games, all with Tidus. I'm a little bored with blitzball now, outscoring opponents 51-1 in 10 games is a little bit too dominant.

I just love it, sometimes there's 4 defenders on me and he still makes it. he'll break to one of them, hit two more and then kick the ball hard enough to make it past the last defender and the keeper. Brilliant!

I never beat the Goers with the original Aurochs. And how they tied the Psyches with those crappy players is beyond me.

It isn't horribly difficult. You just have to get Tidus up to lvl 3 in the first half so he can equip Jecht Shot. Then you score on them. Finally, if you're feeling devious, you just abuse the glitch. Swim in your own net and the opposing team will swim in circles, harmlessly.

I did use the Jecht shot, I still lost 4-3 in overtime. They kept scoring from their side of the field. :s

man how is it so hard to play blitzball man first time i played i kicked the goers butts then when i got lvl3 with tidus i couldnt lose because of the sublimely magnificent jecht shot mark 3 (i love dat name) i always at least score 5 goals and i have probably like conceded 5 or 6 altogether.
