Hi all, I used to have a trailer for Final Fantasy VIII.

I lost it and have been trying to find it for a couple of years now.

It was a fan-made trailer, quite high-quality (I think it was around 40-50megs) and I think advertised a Final Fantasy website at the end of the trailer (FFOnline?), with a picture of a moogle. The main part of the trailer was made up from FMV sequences from FF8. It had some AMAZING orchestral music (NOT from Final Fantasy).

I am DESPERATE to get my hands on this trailer again, can anyone help?

Hi, no that's not the right video.

I have done some more digging, and it was DEFINITELY from Final Fantasy Online. I found the webarchive entries for the site, and the video was available until July/August 2000 when all movies were removed from the site due to bandwidth issues. The file was described as 'Official Final Fantasy Online site trailer' and had the filename ffonline.mpeg (I actually remember this now, as I was on dial-up at the time and it took AGES to download). The footage was only from FF8, and I am 99% sure it was only FMV footage. The video must only have been available for a few months, so I feel lucky at having seen it anyway... but surely someone must have a copy out there?

The only other detail I can give is that the orchestral music built up and built up and hit a massive crescendo... then the website address faded in... black screen, with the name of the site across the middle, with a moogle stood leaning against the logo. While this happened the music became very soft, and choral...

Here is my (very bad) memory of the music... this was played on a very big very string-based orchestra, and this particular part is just at the crescendo. The quiet bit at the end is the part where the web address and moogle come on screen.

Can anyone identify this music? Or does anyone have the trailer? I contacted FFOnline's staff, but have got no response.
