Well i disagree with that part.
I think Tekken 3 is,the pace is so smooth its beautiful.
also theres the rest of the Tekken Series,Soul Balde/Calibur, Mortal Kombat and Dead Or Alive to consider (yes i didnt mention virtua fighter for a very good reason)

i played DOA 4 the Other day and Mary Poppins its had a drastic improvemnt from DOA 1 & 2 i recomend it

As for KoF ive got the same vibe from it as i got from Virtua Fighter Takky and very lame characters just more anime than virtua fighter wether thats good of bad i dont know.

I chose Street Fighter Clearly for Street Fighter II,I dotn really like the others but that game is superb, The Characters are all good the gameplay is at a nice pace and a good selection of moves, its pure Classic.

i bought Street Fighter Alpha 3 for the Psone a few months back and i hated it,the characters looked horrible plus there was a hole load of shit new characters it lost its respect SF2 is the one.

i love both of these games and many others. like the original Killer instinct.

out of all the SF's, my fav was SSFII turbo for the snes. cause it had those new characters and still had all the classics from regular SFII.

but i voted for KoF because i like the chracters in it. i enjoy their personalities and little quirk's/moves during the taunts, and how they walk back and forth, and the animtion of the moves are sometimes just funny. it's fun to play.

Thanx made it myself, but Akuma is great on so many levels that sliding thing he does, his super combo where he makes the screen go black and inflicts a 45 hit count is just so awesome. Terry has some smooth moves that I cannot deny, but Akuma is just awsome. Also Guilty gear is just a poser, wannabe SNK.

I assume you speak of the arcade game level of fun? Or do your speak of their storyline and link into animeTV/movies? Anyway in both cases, i believe that Street Fighter wins.

From what I have experienced, KOF (and I guess this would include fatal fury) tried to shiney things up and make things 'nicer'.

Street Fighter I find is alot more 'liquid'. It's old and fun and they have the crazy classic 'vs XMen'.

I'm not sure if these comparisons really matter to you, but I thought I'd share my feelings when I play this game.. as there's really no comparison otherwise - SF>>>KOF

Don't get me wrong, the Street Fighter series is a classic and well-deserving of it's popularity. However, every SF game feels and plays the same to me, and c'mon, how many shoto characters do you need in a game? Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Dan, Sakura... they all play the same! Okay, so maybe there's a few differences that set them apart, but really! At least with KOF, there's diversity. BTW, Terry Bogard has Akuma's number.

After I played Tobal 2 on the old PSone (yeah, import), I tried some other 3D fighting games and I thought they were not as great. Soul Caliber is to me the nearest chalanger to beat it. I lost interest in Tekken after the third, and Virtua Fighter is still good once in while. But Tobal 2 had it all. Intuitive move system (and there was a lot of moves... basically, almost everything could be chained), a really deep combo system, ultra hi res graphics for that time... It was like Virtua Fighter 2 times 10 in terms of depth. The only thing that sucked about it was the loud eletronic music.

As far as 2D fighting games go, Street Fighter Alpha 3 on the Dreamcast owns all the others big time.

I like both the KOF and Street Fighter series, but I've played Street Fighter the most and have grown to love those characters more. I have to say though I like a lot of the characters from KOF, mainly because of all the various designs.

All the Street Fighter Alpha games were great (especially 3). That is why I couldn't wait until Alpha Anthologies came out. If Street Fighter 3 had more of the old school characters I would definitely love that game the best since I beleve it to have the best battle system out of any street fighter game.

SNK vs Capcom 2 is still a game I play every now and then. Rock, Iori, and Nakoruru (aka birdbitch) are my partners in asskicking.

I've been playing Capcom vs SNK Pro (Dreamcast port) for a little over a week now. Love the extra stages in it. A top notch fighter, it is.

Any of you guys like SvC Chaos? It doesn't get as much love as it deserves. It's actually a decent game once you've gotten used to the SNK'ish control scheme.

Between the KOF and SF, I choose SF. I hated the controls on KOF. I found it a bit slow on the reaction timing. Don't get me wrong, I played it a lot, but every time I switched from SF to KOF and vice versa, I always noticed the difference.

I always liked SF, because it was so easy to start playing. I played as several characters: Dhalsim, Guile, Ryu, and M. Bison.
But of course, I stuck more with Ryu. In my area, I was king with reversals. I could always time a move just right to catch players off guard.

I stopped playing them once Alpha and 3 came out. I did get into the the vs. series, but once they added more and more to them, I stopped.

as for 3D fighters, I'm a fan of the originator series Virtua Fighter! I used Pai, Lau, and Shun-Di

Me i would prefer a challenge, King of fighters certainly gave me that, meaning one of the hardest bosses were Rugal. I mean all the characters you can choose out of. And you can choose a team of three. And the story lines are very interesting. They all connect some how. Street fighter is a good series of games aswell, but if its for entertainment and gaming fun, I would choose King of fighters.

From what i have played so far, i think that all of them have something unique. I can't decide beetween this series. SF is very entertaining and is a classic, but it has kinda repetitive characters. KOF has very great character variety and is balanced, but is less acessible. In the end, I think GG is the best, 'couse is the most balanced and deep fighter out there, although not everyone might like it becouse of it's complexity :(

LOL you're right, Im not used with him.
I also like the character designs in KOF, that's what used to atract my attention back then. But you have to admit that simplicity sometimes is hell a lot of fun! That's why SF is pretty cool. Don't misunderstand me though, not every SF is like that!
If you want complexity play SF Alpha 3, one of the best fighters ever in my opinion.

I have a lot of respect for both companies, and the efforts they made during the years. If someone was to ask me which was better in the year 2000, I would say Street Fighter hands down.Between 1990, and the year 2000, Capcom made SF2, the Alpha series, and the greatest 2D fighting game ever made Street Fighter 3: Third Strike, it's really no contest. If someone was to ask me now, I would say King of Fighters.Capcom's fighting game efforts have been pitiful since the year 2000.In 2001, we had CvS 2, and that was great, next was Capcom Fighting Evolution, and that was a terrible game. The rest are just repackaging of older games, and I was fine that, because they were done well, but the straw that broke the camels back was SFIV.Capcom managed to take SF2 shine it up real nice, and have people playing like it's best thing to happen since SF2.SFIV was a huge disappointment, due to the fact, it plays like a 15 year old game.Everything that SF3 built and did so well, was thrown in the trash, so idiots who couldn't rise to the occasion could play a new SF game.King of Fighters on the other hand slowed down on their efforts, in favor of quality over quantity.Since 2000, they put out KoF '01(Terrible),KoF '02(very good),KoF '03(good),Neowave(okay),and KoF XI(excellent), and XII is on the way.Capcom has truly dropped the ball in the fighting game scene, SNK has actually tried to make their games better, and for the most part it's working
