Didn't see this uploaded here as a .zip-archive, so I tought I'd give it a shot. Avg bitrate is about 180kbps, files are in .mp3 -format

Nicely done, but sadly enough it seems that The Real/Final Evil Pig Boss theme isn't in it :(

Grrr, any functioning link I find for this soundtrack is always missing 5 tracks, which, consequently are some of the most awesome tracks in the whole game. FFshrine has them, but all the links are dead, and anywhere else that offers them either has no link whatsoever or suffers the same problem as ffshrine. This soundtrack is too good to give a half baked version of it, this is disgraceful

No offense but if you like the tracks THAT much then you should consider recording them yourself from the game

Bummer. Here's what I did that worked. I typed in the letters, pushed the button below the letters. Then on the next page I pushed the regular download button at the bottom right. It started downloading. Thats probably exactly what you are doing right? Ideas: Try a different browser maybe ... just an idea.

Thanks for the Files!!!

You could just get the PSF and the plugin for foobar, then you'd have it in whatever bitrate you choose to convert it to. Plus PSF's would be smaller

Does anyone have an alternate rip of the Tomba soundtrack? This one seems to include some sound effects that aren't part of the music, for example in the tracks Haunted Mansion Purified and Mermaid's Singing Rock, if you listen carefully at the start of the tracks you can hear a few footstep sound effects, indicating they were recorded in-game. For those that aren't familiar with the game, when you first enter an area Tomba takes a few steps automatically. There might be sound effects on other tracks too, I haven't had time to check them all yet.

I actually own the original PAL game discs for both Tomba and Tomba 2 so if someone can take me through it step by step then perhaps I can do a clean rip of both games myself for the community.

It's a great soundtrack so would be nice to get a clean rip out there if anyone can supply one, or advise me how to do it.

the PSF rip shouldn't have it, but if it does, it means the SFX was apart of the song all along. tomba 2 i thiiiiink uses streamed music.

As far as I'm aware a PSF rip of Tomba isn't available. All I've been able to find is a game-rip, which as I said, includes some sound effects. They definetely aren't part of the music.

I've just spent several hours experimenting with my PAL disc of Tomba, using various tools, trying to figure out a way of ripping the music in high-quality, without sound-effects. This is the second time I've spent several hours trying to figure it out, I've read so many tutorials and tried my best but sadly I have to admit defeat. This is just way beyond my ability.

PLEASE can someone help us get a high-quality, non-game rip of the soundtracks to Tomba and Tomba 2?

PSF rip here. (http://www.noderunner.net/~llin/psf/packs/Tomba_psf.rar)

and since Tomba 2 doesn't have a PSF set, I'd wager it used streaming music. I'll have to double check though.

Ah that's great, EXACTLY what was needed! Thanks so much for this. Finally a sound-effect-free version!

EDIT: just checking through this PSF set, I noticed something strange - the PSF track titled "33. Unknown" seems to be the tune to the "Dwarf Forest Purified" music, HOWEVER the instruments and arrangement seems very different to the in-game version. Here's how it should sound (which I have compared with the real NTSC game) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfQFLrVsg04. All the other tracks in the PSF sound correct, but the correct version of the "Dwarf Forest Purified" music doesn't seem to be anywhere in this PSF rip. Strange.
