Did anyone actually get the Playstation pocket to get the extra items off the chocobo game?

I did not, but I kinda of regret that I didn't get it imported back then. It's prety much next to impossible to track down now.

I find them all the time on Ebay.

I hear the add-ons were crappy and uneccessary.

I can't say, as I don't have a pocketstation, but Ribbon sounds pretty handy to me, especially given how specialized I had to make my status defenses to take down Malboro's efficiently. I set Rinoa up and make sure she has Treatment. Then she treats Squall, who Aura's himself before taking them down.

The moomba summon, and mini-mog may very well be less than necessary. Is it true that the PC version has a Chocobo World program patch?

The Moomba summon looks pretty swish and the Fat Chocobo is pretty strong

apart from that they seem pretty redundant.

I purchased a PocketStation off of eBay a while back, and to be honest, it has absolutely no relevance to the game whatsoever. The added extras are nice, and the mini-game included can also be pretty fun, but for the most part I only use it as a memory card...

I always wanted to track one down to finally fully 'complete' the game but never did. :(

For the record, the PC version does indeed come with Chocobo World. You can launch it as a separate mini-application.

Haha, I'd like to play Chocobo World just to say I did, but I don't have a PC, and it's ultimately not worth it.

LOLz, I can upload chocobo world if you want; you don't need FFVIII to play it. It fits in a frickin' floppy.

I'm going to assume that you're talking to Smarties, because I seriously doubt the application will run on a Mac.

I never got a pocketstation, I would definetly get one if I saw one for the right price

this game and ridge racer 4 are the only ones I know that use it at all in the U.K.

Chocobo World is very confusing to me. I have it on the PC (hooray for torrents!) and have no idea what to do. But all in all, the only thing I thought it was good for was Ribbon. I equipped that to everyone and it makes things alot easier.

If you're using an Intel-based Mac, get boot-camp and torrent/get Windows XP from somewhere.

If you're using an PowerPC-based Mac (which IMHO is still the best Mac even though you can't boot straight into XP on it), torrent/get VirtualPC or SoftWindows and Windows XP from somewhere.

So not worth the effort, Ram, but thanks for the advice anyway.

:) Kneg is so right. If Chocobo World is your only reason for doing that, just not at all worth the effort. It's not awesome at all.
