As early as it is, I'm thinking of ripping the soundtrack soon if I can manage to get my Wii and everything moved into this computer room for recording.

Kelt

Well, I can't seem to get this to work out, so I also am requesting the soundtrack now. There aren't enough plugs in my computer room and my microphone isn't working well right now, so I can't rip much. I have, however, ripped the main theme and Flipside theme earlier, but that's all I have.

Problem is, I've only just started ripping and it isn't that good quality. When I did rip the main theme, however, it seems to have come out better with Windows Media Player's wow features on, despite my un-professional recording. I'll see if I can upload it a little later.

That file contains the following themes:

~Lineland Road
~Lineland Road 2
~Super Paper Mario Main Theme
~Flipside
~Mario's House

That's all I've got; they aren't in the best condition either. Can't wait until the game's soundtrack is ripped by someone.

Hm. I'm new here, but I've been playing Super Paper Mario, and I think one of my absolute favorite parts of the game is probably the soundtrack.

I'd attempt a ripping, but the only decent recording device I once had (my iRiver HP-120) is now dead.

As such, I'm requesting it. Pleeeeeease?

I was thinking of soundtrack as in like CD Soundtracks. I know the game has music, (I've owned the game since it came out for crying out loud!) but I thought you meant if the game had like an official soundtrack.

That was the answer I was looking for. Thanx Boo. Now to wait till someone hits the recording session and all that. I'd try to record the thing myself, but it's not the best quality. Other then that, I dunno much of how to put music on the internet.

Just a bit of a tip here:

I beat the game tonight, and apparently there's a sound test on Flipside B1, in the cafe. It's 10 coins per song, and songs are played randomly. It even gives song names!

I hope this helps.

It doesn't work that way. Even if you could get your computer to read the disc (which is actually possible), there's no way you could possibly extract the audio data from it (at least without building an entire synth chip core and a whole bunch of research and programming). This isn't like an audio CD.

After a certain amount of thinking, I've discovered something quite interesting. The iRiver H120 that I thought was long dead due to water damage actually works again. Unfortunately, I haven't got a hard drive, AC adapter, or even a correct cable for it any more. I can gather two of the three from around the house, but to get a good female RCA-to-1/8" stereo cable could be tricky.

I'll work on it. I've discovered a way to make money by trading in Flipside, so the soundtest would be perfect. Give me a week and I'll see what can be done.

Awesome; make sure, however, that you don't use the Juke Box in Flipside to get all of the music. I doubt all of the songs in the game are on that, and if you can't manage to get them all, simply use the wisest trick: Start recording one the music starts, then pause. The pause sound won't be too annoying and will only occur at the beginning of the song, afterward, nothing will bother the music. Also, as for things like the song when you get a Pixl, just keep the text unscrolled on what the Pixl is saying as you record.

I hope you'll be able to rip the music ^^

And so the Wiimote doesn't cut off and the Wii stops playing the game for a second due to inactivity... Just duck over and over with Mario, he doesn't make any sounds doing that. I wouldn't recommend the pause thing, it would probably be in the beginning of the song and ruin it. The ducking trick should work better on most levels, on others just clear out the enemies, go to a different part (Which should have different music somewhere) then come back and record it.

The ducking is silent? Hmm... Never knew that. Well, anyway, yeah, you'd have to have the Wii Remote pointed at the Sensor Bar while it is recording, but you only need about 2 and a half minutes of each song anyway.

As long as you hold down the duck it should be fine. As long as the Wiimote is connecting by an action with the Wii it won't have any problem.

Hey guys,

A user at GameFAQs has ripped some of the tracks from the game, in some pretty snazzy quality too. I managed to nab a few tracks from him before he dissapeard, but I can't remember his username and am too lazy to search GameFAGs for it so all credit goes to whoever he is. =]

The tracks include the Main Theme, Lineland Road, Flipside, Count Blecks Theme and a few others, coming to 8 in total. RAR'd and uploaded to SendSpace, enjoy. Also, RAR is nearly 17MB in size.

I'm still working on tracking down all the stuff I need. Only thing keeping me back is that cable. I'm going into town tonight, though. We'll see. If nothing else, I'll solder a hackish job together myself. I'm sure I've got something I can tear a pair of RCAs out of.

Whoever originally recorded them must've done it using a mic. I'm going to be using a direct line-in.

*edit*
No wonder... they're 128kbps mono mp3s at 22050Hz.

That's why they sound so bad.

This could be related to the fact that the original ripper was too stupid to even put it in stereo!

The main problem with sound quality is the fact that he put it at 22050Hz (rather than the standard 44.1KHz). 128kbps mono MP3s have the sound quality of 256kbps stereo MP3s, under normal circumstances, but he halved the sample rate. Never a good idea.

I've encountered a few problems in my ripping. So far, everything's coming out in great quality as it's being ripped from the music test in the cafe. With one problem. There's a bit of speech blopping at the beginning, at the intro, the one part of the song that doesn't repeat.

I'm working on either sampling it out or doing a really strict EQ'ing.

Oh, and KefkaOkami, I already do have the Quiz music, so if you want it now (with the speech at the beginning), I could get a copy to you tomorrow.

clarkisdark

I've encountered a few problems in my ripping. So far, everything's coming out in great quality as it's being ripped from the music test in the cafe. With one problem. There's a bit of speech blopping at the beginning, at the intro, the one part of the song that doesn't repeat.

I'm working on either sampling it out or doing a really strict EQ'ing.

Oh, and KefkaOkami, I already do have the Quiz music, so if you want it now (with the speech at the beginning), I could get a copy to you tomorrow.

i would also like the Quiz theme too, if it isn't too much trouble.

iTunes wouldn't change anything about the songs. If people play the songs on iTunes, they can name the songs and artists themselves if Ehntoo doesn't decide to set it up himself. If they play the songs of Windows Media Player (Which can also obviously name songs and artists), the same goes for that.

Anyway, the full OST will probably go onto GH's site sometime after Ehntoo finishes ripping it. We'll just have to wait for that. Until then, enjoy the music anticipation. XD

No,No. Not the song that plays when you beat a chapter. The Song that plays when you fight him. I think its played during the wedding sequence as well. The part that it is missing is the part that DOES NOT repeat itself.

So, is the full one finished now? It could only take so long to get one song; of course, you'd have to upload the whole thing and such and all the work to be done to fully complete it.

Another track that seems to be missing is the one that plays when you go back to Gramby after the final boss.

I also support.

This game is awesome and the music is too. Nearly every song has a 24th burst in it and they kick ass.

Soft Light has to be the best music in the game..well, in my opinion.

I had to go digging for it, but the direct link is:

found in this forum post (about 7 posts down)

Theres also another one by mogman 107

That should be all of the ripped songs out so far, just need someone to rip the missing ones from Cylex's list and we could be GOLD. Now I need to design a killer Super Paper Mario Soundtrack Cover Art...

UBER UPDATE!

New link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XQYFCY8F

New Tracklist: http://www.majhost.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=166600
[Below taken from this topic:
Thread 49009]
The a.pngs are the order that the tracks are in when you get them in the file and drag it into iTunes. the b.pngs are the renamed tracks in order of appearance in the game. Start with the fourth file onward and then go to the first three. I couldn't find out what the other five I left out were so whatever. Also, if someone could extract the 'Wii Intro Screen' track from the first track of my reupload on the middle of page 1 and put it into a separate file or reorder their songs to fit this list and put it in a sendspace/ megaupload link, that would make this topic the best.

Nevermind.
I got tired of waiting and organized and tagged everything myself based on the song durations, and the old gamerip.
...So one or two things may be wrong or something.

Awesome! Now what's left, besides the Piccolo songs, Outer Space Ambiance song that plays when you first go into space and don't have a helmet, and the Overthere Shrine song found when revisiting after the end of the game?

I have an integral question for you: Does this gamerip STILL have sound effects? Because if so, I'm going to make a gamerip which does NOT include sound effects for this game, seriously. I already have the means to do this (much like Kirby Superstar Ultra).

Let me know, as it will determine the fate of both this game AND KSSU.

The gamerip does not have SFX, it is fine. It's actually perfect. I also now await your KSSU rip, Sound Reaper.

Ah, this is good. I have listened to it for myself now and I'm relieved. Looks like the KSSU won't be much longer now.

On the link imamonkey provided, evt_angel_44k_lp.brstm.mp3 is down as Drawing the Altar, whereas it would be the song that plays when you revisit the Overthere Shrine after the end of the game. That leaves the Piccolo songs, the Outer Space Ambiance song that plays when you first go into space and don't have a helmet, and Drawing the Altar, which plays before everyone enters the altar room after beating Super Dimentio.

I'm sorry.
I organized them mostly by duration from those images cylex posted.

If I were to include Drawing the Altar in there, it'd be with sound effects, and not quite as awesome quality as the BRSTM rip, since it is mainly drawing sounds with a few blooming sounds at the end. But yeah, I'll be working on that.

Pretty amazing game rip. I wonder if Sound Reaper's rips would be even better. Also, it would be cool if it was somehow possible to rip the sped-up and slowed-down versions of each song, depending on which type of time flower you get.

The Flowers just make the game 3x faster/slower, so just make the song 3x faster or 3x slower. I know that VLC can play back songs at altered speeds, so you can set it to 3x playback and get the same effect. Or set it to 0.33x for the Slow version. Or something close. I'm not sure if you can make it 3x slower as easily as making it 3x faster due to 1/3 not being an even decimal...
