As mention in the Clarissa thread, I loved Clarissa Explains it All, Are you Afraid of the Dark, and Legends of the Hidden Temple.

I was a huge fan of Seaquest, and I had a giant crush on Jonathan Brandis. :( I am afraid to watch the show now, because I don't want my wonderful memories of it tarnished.

I was a huge Star Trek nerd from a pretty young age, but I only really appreciated Next Generation as a youngin'. It took some time for the original series sans the movies to grow on me.

I loved Saved by the Bell and I thought that was what high school would really be like.

I'm sure there are many more, but I can't think of them yet!

In my much yunger childhood I loved Sesame Street, Bananas In Pajamas, Humphry and Playschool. I then grew into the Power Rangers and that sorta thing (can't remember other titles.)

My pre and early teens I loved watching Cheese TV, which had cartoons like Dragon Ball Z, Yugioh, Pokemon, TMNT etc. Also loved The Simpsons and the likes. Thats all I can remember for now.

I loved Sesame Street when I was little. :) I watched US Sesame Street and Canadian Sesame Street because I got them both.

There were some Nick Jr. shows I really liked that I can't remember the name of now. :( Nick Jr. was really pretty different when I was a little, though!

Sesame Street was addicting.

There was alot of cartoons I watched when I was younger on Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. Popye, Rugrats and even cartoon shows like Jumanji and The Wild Thornberrys. There are alot of others, I just can't think of them right now.

Hey Dude comes to mind. I liked Are You Afraid of the Dark, as well. I remember watching Voltron, of course. When I was in middle school I watched the original iteration of Powerrangers just because they took up the Voltron/Gestalt torch. Transformers! :)

When ever I see Animaniacs in the listings I'll watch it even if it is for when Humphrey Bogart turns up, amongst other things (Pinky + the Brain).

I also enjoy the odd episode of Batman the Animated Series. (http://teevee.gamefurnace.com/series/122/sname/Batman) It's much better than Batman Beyond/Batman Of The Future.

Transformers, GI Joe, Ninja Turtles, Thundercats, Silverhawks, Batman TAS, Muppet Babies, Slimer and the Real Ghostbusters, Beetlejuice, Pup Named Scooby Doo, Animaniacs, Freakazoid, Pinky and the Brain, etc, I can't remember all of them off the top of my head but I LOVED ME SOME CARTOONS

I am old enough to have loved Ninja Turtles.

Technically, I wasn't allowed to watch it, but I still managed to see the show and the movies plenty. We were allowed to have the toys, though? Pretty weird!

Donatello was my favorite. I'm sad to say that was probably mostly because he wore a purple band.

When we'd play turtles on the playground, all the other girls would fight over who got to be April O'Neil, so I'd always volunteer to be Irma and therefore get guaranteed a shot at playing.

Mickrulz
04-18-2007, 10:03 AM
Would you say it's more Jibba...or Jabba?

Hmmm.

"The Mathematical Proof for Mr. T's Infinite Pity: For life to exist there must be a symmetric equation regarding the factors of pity(p) and fools(f) -> p-f=0. If any one factor rose to a level higher than the other, life as we know it would cease to exist. The fool factor can be decisively measured by dividing jibba-jabba(j) by tolerance for said jibba-jabba(t) -> f=j/t. With these two equations we can deduce: p-f=0; f=j/t ->p-(j/t) = 0 -> p = j/t. This equation leads to quite an interesting result. As we can see, if we hold jibba-jabba constant, as tolerance for said jibba-jabba approaches 0, pity approaches infinity. Now we all well know that Mr. T “ain’t got no time for the jibba-jabba.” In fact, extensive observational studies have been conducted and even with machines able to calculate with precision to the 23rd decimal place, Mr. T’s tolerance for jibba-jabba has been conclusively found to be 0, and therefore Mr. T’s pity is the literal embodiment of the concept of infinity."

With that said, I'd say 50/50.

So drink yer milk.

I liked a vaiety of shows when I was kid. My best memories are from elementary school. At first I started with the Nick and Nick Jr. I'd watch the old Rugrats, Doug, the busy world of richard scarry, Hey Arnold, etc. Then I was flipping through the channels and began to watch this segment called One Saturday Morning in fourth grade. That year is when Pokemon became a big hit.

so I really couldn't pick a favorite show.

Airwolf
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (aguante las tortugas ninja:D)

Saint Seiya (in Latin America is called los Caballeros del Zodiaco. The first time it was on TV, the bastards decided to change the intro with this crap http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXLyBMl6uLI. Luckly many years later they changed to the original one)

You know what? It's a good thing Hollywood don't do a real one - they'd only mess it up - there's a Ghost in the Shell live action in the works apparently - it makes me cringe to think on it. Aeon Flux? 'Nuff said!!

The only people I can think of offhand that work well within that corporate whore machine are Sam Raimi, Tim Burton, and David Lynch; they've compromised over the years but are still churning out offbeat and moreover interesting material - I went to film school and the concensus among the students was that Star Wars was the pinnacle of modern film making!! Jeez!! And we wonder why the movie industry doesn't imrove?
I'll wait for your Avengers movie if you insist, but then I'll BURN it!!!

That's fucking horrible, I like Keanu, but he doesn't have the lax, nonchalnt, linky personality that Spike does. Spike should be played by a tall skinny person with a martial art background.

Power Rangers, without question. I actually started watching some of the newer ones, not half bad. In fact, Power Rangers: SPD, I would actually rank up there with the new school. It has more focus on giving characters more depth, from random demeanors to dialogue that is very particular of a character.

Speed Racer, Addams Family, Get Smart.

Hmm... they are still some of my favorite shows. I guess I haven't matured much.

Madeline
Mona The Vampire

Anything outside of Nickelodeon/ CN's repetoire always interested/ still does interest me.

Even today, I'm more a fan of acquisitioned efforts than I am of house-owned, due to the fact that there's more freedom of creativity...

I could name some I like Today, but this isn't the place, is it?

I'm showing my age, but I grew up with the original Spiderman 1967 version,
Pink Panther
George Of The Jungle
Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Hour(A weekly Sunday night at 5pm ritual) Warner Brothers shorts were the best of the best of vintage animation!
Tom & Jerry (Any predating 1967)
Scooby Doo
Banana Splits
Speed Buggy (A guilty Pleasure)
Get Smart(not animated-but still a great program)
Also some of the early Rankin-Bass shows "the new adventures of pinocchio" & "Tales Of The Wizard Of Oz". Didn't say it was all good, just say it was what I grew up with.
Battle Of The Planets
Gummi Bears
Tail Spin
Transformers
GI Joe
Mighty Orbots (It was extremely well animated for TV Animation at the time-which is what attracted me to it)
Pandamonium (I liked it anyway)
Gargoyles (THE Ultimate animated series in my book)

There are many others, but that's a short list.

I'm a week away from turning 44 and still love my animation.

Well, I remember animaniacs and histeria! (or was it historia?) as being awesome.

and then there was the shows I got addicted to.

The first was power rangers. I used to have a crush on the chick in the yellow suit (but I think it was only because at 5 I REALLY liked the color yellow)

The only other major addiction to a show I'd ever had as a kid was pokemon, so much that I got a pokemon game and had NO idea how to play it :P

The Twilight Zone (1980s). Still a classic series in my eyes. A lo of weak episodes as viewed from 2010, but many classics too.
