What are the best TV shows that nobody watches? What are some shows you love and adore that you have a hard time finding anyone to talk about with?

Veronica Mars is one of my favorite shows on tv, but it has always gotten pretty lousy ratings. At least I managed to talk Sarah into watching it.

Undeclared was even shorter lived then Freaks and Geeks, but in my opinion, it's every bit as great. I don't know anyone who's watched this that didn't watch it with me, though.

The old NBC show "Ed" was really great until it got ruined by constant time slot moves and too much relationship drama when it was originally a pretty wacky comedy. I've never really come across anyone else that ever watched it.

My friend Adam was sending me episodes of that till we stopped with the talking. I've seen the first 3 episodes, and am not having luck finding a healthy torrent for the rest.

There are some pretty neat people on it!

Just to add in my 2 pence-pieces. I know it's no longer being made but Spaced (http://www.alluc.org/alluc/tv-shows.html?action=getviewcategory&category_uid=1326) is definitely one of the most magnificant shows ever created and should be watched by everyone at least once. Popular? not around where I live or enough to not get it canceled.

It probably does of course have a bigger following on the internet than anywhere else and has done better in dvd sales than it ever did on tv.

I love the show, just to say, one of my favorites. I just never really got the feeling that it was widely disliked/unnoticed but I suppose you're right.

It was drastically changed in the last seven or so episodes though to accommodate the ending and it kind of shows. I don't really mind the ending I liked those episodes but I would have liked to seen it continue a little longer. The last episode did leave the option for the movie open but that could just as easily been a joke.

When Veronica Mars was first brought over here the station that aired it hyped it like it had gotten personal approval from Jesus or something

Nowadays it is shoved to Fridays after the Friday movie at some point between 11 to 12 with absolutely no advertising at all. And I can't find the DVDs anywhere around here!

nuh-uh I have to say this is their best season almost soap opera like. Plus know Clarks playing the jealous knight. Really regretting his decision, and he can't decide whether to go with his heart or his head.

Raidenex

almost soap opera like.

Precisely the reason why Smallville is crap, now. Where the early seasons where a very good "This is the young Clark Kent! Watch as he and his friends solve mysteries, he discovers his powers, and tries to keep them secret!"

It was very entertaining, and a good addition to the Superman mythos. Not to mention that Michael Rosenbaum was the best Lex Luthor, ever.

Now, the series is crap. They're recycling the Clark/Lana/Lex love triange over and over again, and even the 'super-hero' parts aren't as often, or good, as they used to be. Introducing the Green Arrow was a nice touch, but the 'costume' was a joke; since it seems that he'll be playing a big part, I hope they don't screw up the Martian Manhunter.

jewess crabcake
04-16-2007, 12:46 AM
I keep getting the feeling that he'll be joining up with the justice league. Plus I mean if they don't stretch out the plot with love triangles it won't be a long series. But you're right his powers are really fading from the story, except for the occasional dash away from chloe.

No Buffy movie. The Serenity movie was great in my opinion. And they still have comics coming to tell the untold story written by Joss himself.

Another show I think was good (and still has a chance to keep going) is 'The Collector". I'm not too sure if many people watch that one.

Oh and Drive would have got more attention if FOX wasn't retarded and pulled it after two weeks, during exam season AND during TURN OFF YOUR TV WEEK.

There's a show that's been airing on CBS recently called Harper's Island which is pretty decent. It's a murder mystery type show about a girl named Abby Mills who returns to Harper's Island for the wedding celebration of her best friend, Henry Dunn, and his bride-to-be, Trish Wellington. Abby hasn't been home in seven years, since her mother and five others were murdered by John Wakefield. It's been getting really terrible ratings mainly because CBS keeps bumping its time slot. It's always shown real late like around 9 or 10pm (depending on if you cable or satellite) but it was first on Thursdays then it was bumped to Saturdays.

Check out the pilot here (http://www.imdb.com/video/cbs/vi2723939097/).

It's too late for this one show because it was already canceled, but I thought I would mention it anyway.

It was called Reunion, and it was aired on Fox about 2 or so years ago. Story was about a bunch of teenagers coming out of high school, and each episode showed what happened to them every year. One of their own had died halfway through, and each episode was supposed to bring us one step closer to her killer...

Didn't last. Fox canceled it mid-season. Didn't even get a shot.

Eureka gets a pretty good viewing audience for the network and time slot, but it definitely needs more mainstream viewers. It's one of my absolute favorite shows, but it's not very well known. I was not chuffed when Nathan Stark left the show.

Doctor Who. This has been my favorite show since I was 12 or 15. It is absolutely massive in the UK right now, and I hear it was pretty popular in Japan when it launched back in 2005, but it's always been a niche show here in America, and the success of the revived series didn't help it much. I do know people that watch now who didn't watch the 1963-1989 version of the show, but it's by no means mainstream here.

Pushing Daisies. A spiritual followup to Dead Like Me. Critically praised, but ignored by the viewing audience. What a lovely, lovely show. Died well before its time.
