They're kind of like Grace Jones; scary and without a specific gender. This should be common knowledge by now.

The sex of Quina is never specified in the game. You can consider him male or female (i personally consider him male) but it seems that Qu are asexual creatures.

I also thought Quina as more of a female. The only (shallow) basis for my belief is that you could equip her with a Lamia's Tiara which could only be equipped on female characters.

That's true, but it doesn't mean a damn thing. If Quina was a male, they wouldn't constantly refer to it as "him/her." Also, I consider Quina to be female, because it can equip the Tiara and because it marries Vivi. I hardly think that Square intended to have the slightest of homosexual undertones. D=

I always just considered Quina to be just asexual. S/he can really go either way. Doesn't matter too much to me though considering the only times I had Quina in my party was when I was literally required to--blue magic just isn't my cup of tea.

I think the Qu is just a male or a female but the "characters"/we don't know the gender (I guess they developers did it that the characters and we won't be able to tell) so Qu is either only a male or a female we just don't know what xD (and will never know... muhahahaha).
