I've reached Disc Four, but haven't done anything on the Chocobo sidequest before this disc.

Now I want to start it, but I don't think I can.

I'm going to where the guide is telling me to find the first pieces, but there's no sign of them.
I have a feeling that I've decided too late to do this sidequest.

Am I right?

I'm not sure if you can start it that late into the game or not, but I know that if it is possible, you wouldn't be able to obtain all of the treasure.

1. Yes, you can start the chocobo sidequest on disc 4.
2. Yes, you can obtain all the treasures.

Hi, could I just mention that I did start it on Disk 4, and got a fair way into it, but I cannot for the life of me find the location of the Chocobo Air Garden - I've looked in all the locations on the Chocograph pieces and the explanations of where they are in some walkthroughs on Gamefaqs.com - to the extent that I'm beginning to wonder if maybe you can't do that on Disk 4. Maybe someone else'll prove me wrong, but it might be worth bearing in mind.

The Air Garden moves location every 10-15 minutes I believe so just keep checking all of the locations (there are five in total). Once you find it the first time it'll be a lot easier as it'll show up on your big map, but it is definitely there on disc 4. Make sure you're trying all the locations, and if you don't find it then it may well have moved since you last checked.

Dunno what map you were using before, but the five green dots on here are pretty accurate. Make sure you're flying when you look for it of course ;) although the shadow will still be there even if you're not.

Old thread, but as has already been indicated, yes, it is okay to start it on Disc 4 and yes, it is possible to get all the treasures.

However, do to the Mist permeating the entire world in Disc 4, I can't say that I recommend it. It's much easier to complete it on Disc 3, so you don't have to deal with that.

And if it helps at all, I actually [i]did[i/] start it in disc four and got everything. Although I'll have the agree, the mist was a pain.

yes you can start it in disc 4. but if you get the gold chocobo and go to the air garden before you get to Kuja's Palace, the game will glitch and you will skip all the way to Ipsen's Castle which is a huge chunk of the game

From what I understand, not actually possible unless you encounter a very unusual glitch that causes the final Chocograph / Chocograph Pieces to become available before the Hilda Garde III. Normally, those simply aren't available before you get the HGIII. The Gold Chocobo Bug guide at GameFAQs describes this glitch, and the author notes that he has an "original copy" of the game, one obtained, in fact, one day before the official release date. I've only known one person on this board to ever mention having experienced it, and in fact, what they reported was rather different from what was described in that FAQ.

Please do not revive threads that haven't been posted in for over a year, particularly if you're not going to add anything and instead only repeat stuff that has already been said.
