i have yet to beat ruby weapon and its the only one i have left on 7 to beat. can ne one give me some advice on how to stay in the b attle for more than a few rounds. every time he sucks up two of my characters. and what kind of materia should i put on.

kill 2 characters before the battle.

equip one remaining character with W-Summon, Hades and KOTR.

Cast Hades, followed by KOTR using W-Summon.

kill off two charecter, summon pheonix, and then have Final Attack + Pheonix, and also have W-Summon, use with KOTR, and then i used as an extra, Quadra Magic and Demi/Gravity, any level of it does 9999 damage.

Here's one that doesn't involve KofR.

Equip an accessory that absorbs Fire attacks or equip a mastered Fire Meteria linked to an Elemental Materia on the armor of all characters. Kill off 2 characters and use W-Item and Phoenix downs or W-Magic and Life to revive the other two when he sticks his hands in the ground. Use Dazers on the claw parts until they're paralyzed and attack the main body over and over again. When you start to see some movement from the claws just re-Dazer, rinse and repeat.

OR Quadra Magic + W summon + Buhamut ZERO = fun with the
Final Attack + Pheonix = isntant life


but no matter what, your goning to HAVE to have alot of Turbo Ethers and Elixers. i recomend W-Item trick.... never thought of people who didnt have KOTR....

Kill two party members Before the Battle then use Knights of the round +Hp Absorb and Command Counter + Mime Then just Watch Tv for about half an hour and it should be done

I was gonna say exactly that. But also have Mime on there somewhere, and Hades equipped with Quadra Magic (it sometimes takes multiple hits to take effect) and KOTR with HP Absorb. Use Hades followed by KOTR, keep miming, and you're done.

im gonna try a few ways... w-item hero drink on cloud twice from your other 2 members, when cloud gets attacked he should counter with a load of hero drinks... then w-item hero drink megailixer on everyone so they are heald let cloud use omnislash on ruby and as this onslot is going on he should attack back just hopefully cloud and he will counter with 8 more omnislash's.... obviously clouds materia should be counter=mime all 8 slots.... and thats how i beat emerald :) might have to change a bit but ill do wat i can....

ok scratch that i w-summoned KOR=hp absorb KOR=mp absorb then i had tifa all 8 slots with mime=counter then when cid had a time to do something w-item dazers and megalixer then w-summon KOR then the who process repeated :P and boom i was done.... + i made something to eat to make this defeat better

would anyone in their right mind spend the time it would take to master all those counters and mimes?

because you could beat ruby a lot quicker by finding a better method.

it doesnt take as long as you think it takes alot longer to master 2 kights of the round materia cause they take 500k ap each mime is 100k and counter is 70k or so... to get it done really quick use clouds apocolypse and cids scimitar cause the do triple ap and everyone in ur group can do double but vincent so any of them will do and put wat u want on the double and triple and your done with in 2 hours. not to bad

i used it on emerald weapon and fiugred it would still work. Ruby may be strong against it.

If you want to take your time and do it right heres what you do. Get 255 Power, guard, magic, mind, luck, and speed sources for each character in your party and don't use any material at all when you go to fight the weapons. Put yourself in fury and every time he tries to wack you bang him with omnislash.

I've done it before. Took about 2 weeks of just morphing monsters straight. But i did it. I used the time and ap to get a few master summons and a half a dozen master magics.

When I beat the Ruby Weapon, I just used my real life magic to edit the game's programming. I know I was reaching around my back to scratch my elbow, but it was fun.

i dont think ruby is strong against it ive watch some videos of different strategies on youtube and demi was dealing 9999 damage so i tried it and i was shit out of luck. but emerald is the easiest one to kill out of the 2. for emerald i had cloud with counter=mimex8 i had the other 2 members use w-item and give cloud 2 hero drinks and when cloud is attacked he mimes it(thats the long part) but have clouds 4th limit set and ready and after he is done with all the hero drinks cast omnislash on emerald and wait for him to attack cloud and wait till he dies because each attack is going to do 9999 damage and should take about 6 mimes or so

for emerald i had cloud with Pheonix + Final Attack (saved meh butt MANY times) Red XIII with Quadra Magic/ Mime/ Demi and Vincent with W- Item and W-Summon/Quadra Magic/Buhamut ZERO (it needed leveling up) oh, and cloud also had Cure + All for some reason he never used Materia Aire Tam (i belive that was the attack that or Air Etam, correct me if im wrong.)
and this was before i had KORT

the easy way. kill 2 of you characters before the battle, leaving your best character. make sure that you have the remaining character at the bottom of the 3 characters (incase he uses whirlsand, my last character never got hit by whirlsand). Enter the battle, immediately use w-magic haste and wall. even though ruby cant be damaged while his claws are up, attack him till he sticks them in the ground. you then use w-summon (on the claws, this will still hit ruby's body) hades then KOTR. hades will stop ruby so he wont use ultima. after KOTR, use life 2 on the dead characters. use the other 2 characters to heal. when it gets to your main character, use w-summon again. mime it until he is dead. if you need to heal, make one character use megalixer. after that repeat w-summon. USE FINAL ATTACK + PHOENIX, THIS WILL SAVE YOU SO MANY TIMES WITH BOSSES LIKE THIS!!!

Ruby weapon will use whirlsand whether you use KOTR or not. i went into the fight and before i could do anything, he used whirlsand. after that i used wall and haste, and then my next character got hit by whirlsand. best to use hades then KOTR.
